I know, he's been very reliable this year. I based my statement on his overall body of work, but I guess when someone is hot you ride him until the cold front rolls in!

    Bleedsteel,
Yes i was VERY satisfied with a win over the Eagles. Something the Giants or the Ravens were unable to do.

You can't blame Tomlin on those penalties....lets just face up to the facts that Willie Colon is a liability when it comes to penalties... Its difficult for Ben to have game winning drives when his LG keeps moving the ball backwards.

You also can't blame Tomlin on Clark and Mundy's hits that got flagged...

Ben seemed pretty rusty throwing to Brown and Wallace today, but then again it looks like they were getting held all game and it wasn't getting called....

I agree- I am rapidly losing faith in MT. Our team is completely undisciplined and its really frustrating to watch. However, I am really happy we won. I did not pick us to win in the pick em this week - I feel like the Eagles abuse Ben but he was not sacked ONE TIME!! :clapping:

I have mixed feelings about this game. First of all, Woodley with a Hamstring already. We just got James back and now Woodley goes out. Woodley with the hamstring was a disaster last year. I guess we can count him out for most of this year. I don't understand why he has this hamstring problem for the last two years. Maybe his weight has something to do with it.

As far as Troy is concerned, he has been hurt much of the last three years. If he is not able to stay healthy then he is no good to the team. He is 31 years old and injury prone. Their can be no excuse for him being injured and not on the field. Might be time to move on.

His replacement, Mundy, stunck up the field again. He has made more mistakes and had poor performance in the four games that he has played this year. He is a liability on the field. Yesterday I saw him miss tackles, get penalties, and generally played poor. Again, Tomlin excepts his poor play while a young player sits on the bench and watches (Golden). Every other team in the nfl puts their rookies out on the field and lets them play and learn on the run. The Steelers excuse is that the defense system is to hard for first year players to learn. Its so complicated that they don't put them out their but excepts poor play from those players that have been on the team for 3, 4 years. I'm sick of Mundy!

However, it was good to get a win as their were some positive during the game. Timmons stepped up big time. I have been on his case hard but he performed like he is suppose to in the game. Lets hope he keeps it up. Mendenhall was uite a suprise and a welcome participant in the game. I have never been a fan of Mendenhall but yesterday I seen something differt in him. First of all his speed has been missed. He put a spark in the offense. Maybe it was because his legs were fresh but he did some things that will help this offense down the road. Teams must now prepare for his speed. Maybe it was BA's offense that held Mendenhall back. Hopefully Haley will get the best out of him. I'm looking forward to it.

And please, don't let me get started on Fat Casey Hampton and Captain Bret Keisel who have done absoltely nothing to date while their replacements sit on the bench, McClendon and Hayward! The biggest problem is PENALTY MASTER WILLIE COLON, what is with this guy. He killed drives yesterday. It is just sad that the Steelers put up with this guy with all the money they pay him to Stink up the joint like he does. Yesterday was absolutely ridiculous!

Tomlin did indeed get on the refs about two calls, that I saw. One of them was the "defensive holding" call that came on a designed QB run. Tomlin and LeBeau both were livid. That flag was picked up.

Another thing to like: Ben wasn't sacked. Now, if we remember correctly, during the first preseason game, the o-line looked like a sieve against Philly. And there was a lot of concern on these boards. Much of it is warranted. But at the same time, we can't take much of anything from preseason.

Overall your right, not very impressive but we'll take the win. Things that did impress me... Timmons played lights out in the first half. In fact I think we lose if it wasn't for him. And Mendy I thought played a great game considering everything he's gone thorugh. He looked good, had some great bursts.

    :this: I'm with you, here.

2 SB appearances with one win and only misses the playoffs once working with a patchwork o-line and multiple seasons of nagging injuries to many of his starters.

    Yep. He's garbage...
