538 says Steelers are lucky to be 8-0

If the Steelers had an offensive scheme that was consistent their record would be more reflective of their play. The fact the the offense has played only one half in most games, it does look like the Steelers are not as good as their record.

 

You made me have to think a bit and go back to look at the games but it's pretty much true that our O plays one good half a game. That will be trouble in the playoffs.

 

Oh gosh, I suppose they should forfeit those games!

 

Have you been reading the board lately? If Ben can get his deep balls placed properly we have a really good chance.

 

I was thinking about this as well. Essentially they have used the pass game to replace the run (which has become nearly non-existent). You can do that for awhile, but to have success deep in the p/o's they really need to stretch the field. The dink and dunk can work, but it brings more of the D closer to the line, which make a suspect running game even harder. I do not mind using the pass to establish the run, but we need longer plays from scrimmage more consistently to do that. We get behind and it seems Ben takes charge and we move the ball, but long term him throwing the ball 45-50 times a game is going bite us.

 

Back in the 90’s I used to watch all the NFL shows I could. As more channels became available, I watched them too. Eventually, I tired of watching them. I can hardly stand the pregame shows. At this point in my life, I just don’t care what they have to say. And, I’m bothered by their format. I like Merril Hodge doing analysis. Hearing some blond recite statistics, is boring.

Lately, I find myself not interested in what 538 normally puts out. I can’t for the life of me care what they have to say about the NFL.

Commentators have to commentate. If they say nothing that raises the eyebrows, no one cares what they say. There’s no recourse if they’re wrong.


So, I listen to Steelers Nation Radio. Now this is quality programming.

Now there is a flashback. Many years ago a friend and I were driving on a small country road. The road turned left and he turned left. The road straightened out. They have been lucky. So what? How many really good teams have missed out on the playoffs or the SB because of a bad bounce here and there?

 

Or the Saints getting robbed in the NFCCG.

I actually have a bunch of these. It’s surprising my friends and I not only lived but did well in life.

I have a longer one that involved an angry mob in a small town a bunch of police and two of us running and jumping on a freight train.

Sounds like Pollyanna crap to me. I'd rather hear Cowherd, Sharpe and Bayless who are totally objective regarding the Steelers. Cowherd is the best at this. He doesn't hate the Steelers, but he is honest about Tomlin and Roethlisberger.
