Injury updates anyone?

Ben: Anyone know just how bad his elbow pain was?

Hayward: I've heard it isn't serious but he looked pretty timid on that leg yesterday?

Hilton: When is he due back?

Alualu: What is his status?

 

Heard on one of the post game shows that it was Bens hand the was injured. Said his fingers got bent back and caused some pain in his forearm for a short time.

 

Heard that Alualu has a Sprained MCL. He will be out for a while but thankfully not the season. Cameron Heyward had a minor Quad Injury and is not expected to miss much time if at all. No others that I found thus far to report.


Regarding Cam though, I would keep him out against Dallas. Yes, Zach Martin has returned but Stephen Tuitt is more than a match for him. I also would like to see how well Buggs can rebound after having a below average performance for much of the game against Baltimore.

 

I agree on Heyward. No sense in him playing vs. Cowboys. If the Steelers are as good as most claim here.... they can roll with backups on the D line. Buggs looks to be a good replacement for Alualu.

At worst, elevate L.T. Walton from the Practice Squad if need be. He might not be a star level player like Heyward but he does know the system and can hold his own if given the chance. Henry Mondeaux also but so far from the All 22, he has struggled a bit to get off of blocks. Hopefully that changes because he is a very athletic interior player.

After what I saw of Dallas Sunday night this is almost like a bye week where we could rest all injured players.

Really? I would think the Eagle games are their SB's. All the eagle fans I know despise the Cowboys and those 2 games a year are huge for them.

 

The Red Rifle should be back, so their QB play will be better. And Dallas in Dallas, with nothing to lose and playing the hated Steelers. They will have motivation on their side, if nothing else.

 

I can see a possible let down/ trap game after that battle against the crows. I hope not, but they better keep up the same energy and crush the cryboys.

Absolutely they should. Rest Heyward. Just can't take a chance playing him and aggravating the minor quad injury. Guess we will see if he practices.

 

Would it make sense to use this non-divisional out of conference trip to Dallas as our pseudo bye week if that means a huge portion of our starters get much needed rest, back-ups get much needed snaps and we turn in a 7-1 record after 8 games?

I think I’d be just fine with that.

 

I’d say rest cam and get up a couple scores and then put backups in.

Good news, need this guy and Mike Hilton back for the Ravens at Thanksgiving

 

I imagine the Ravens game, specifically their running game, turns out a lot different with Hilton and Alualu good to go. Hilton was sorely missed.
