    Hmm....

Then this essentially means that the next three games may become must win games. Cannot allow Kansas City to leap frog the team via the tiebreakers. Of course, the Owners would have to sign off on this.

IDK, hope it does not come to that. The format is getting more stupid as they go, now you are telling me there might be actually 2 reams in the P/O's from the NFC East? Every other major sport when faced with this virus put forth an abbreviated season, sucked up the losses and moved on. Guess I am more p/o ed because we are so good this year and have a fighting chance for that only bye.

It sucks that instead of wondering whether or not the Steelers can go 16-0, we are wondering whether or not the Steelers will get 16 games in.

Is this being done for the simple reason of putting some more money back in the owner's pockets?

There are too many 5 win teams in the NFC that will keep pace in front of Washington and Dallas. Add Giants if they pull off a miracle tonight.

While we're distracted they think they can pull one over on the Fans.

Keep in mind everyone that NFL Ownership has to sign off on this. The NFL Competition Committee cannot send this to Roger Goodell and have it in effect from a unilateral standpoint. There has to be a vote on it.

This would likely mean no byes, which would really be a huge "F you" to the Steelers since they had to waste their bye in week 3. No team stands to get screwed over more this season than the Steelers with the way things are going.

I think this proposal, if it came to pass, would make it less important to stay ahead of KC. Under the current format, only the #1 seed would get a bye. Under this 8 team format, the only difference between being the #1 and #2 seed is who you play, and it’s probably only a little better than 50/50 that the #7 seed will be a tougher out than the #8 seed.

The contingency plan is more like what the playoffs should be every year. Each division's playoff field should have been increased to 8, not 7 (imo).

The only real advantage is you would have home field throughout as long as you kept winning. W/o fans (if that continues) I do now know how much of an advantage that would be, still some as far as travel, whether if you are in the cold and get a dome or western team.

So, right now, 1 seed plays Raiders and 2 seed plays Browns. Steelers get screwed again.

Yes, that last sentence was sarcasm. Just putting it out there for those few who cannot take a joke.

They better start allowing more fans in the stadium come January and playoff time. This is one of the best Steelers seasons in team history and it would be absolutely terrible if they rob fans of having a chance to go see an AFC Championship game at Heinz Field against a team like the Chiefs. There has been no evidence so far of their being a lot of Corona cases spiking due to fans going to games. You gotta at least have 20,000 plus fans for a playoff game I feel for it to be a true homefield advantage and there is definitely a way I feel they can do that and do that in a safe matter. For them to stay at 5,000 fans for the playoffs with the type of special season the Steelers are having would be an absolute disgrace.

They're doing it in case some regular season games are lost due to the pandemic.

Figures in a year where we actually have a shot at the #1 seed they are scheming a way to take away the bye week for the #1 seed.

Oh well. Maybe it would not help us if we got it.

Wow look at all the positive cases today.

I definitely feel Goddell will create some crazy Playoff scenario that hurts the Steelers.

Then........**** them, You make your own bye...Last week of the season you rest as many starters as you can...If you have be the no.2 seed, as opposed to the no.1, so be it...

You'll still have a home game and imo...Getting guys rested and healed is MUCH more important than whether you play the 8th seed or the 7th seed!

I'm surprised that they all don't have to play the game with the Bruce Arians or Andy Reids face shield.
