The way the league has now turned to lets everybody try to throw for a thousand yards a game and so forth I'm really interested to see who can crank out a violent run game when neeeded the last five or six weeks of the season. We all know that when we have snow games and very cold and windy games that this throw it around the stadium isn't going to work like it does now. That brings me to our guys and the lack of commitment to the run game. While I think we'll be o.k. in that regard, I wish we would at least give Redman about 15 carries or more when we could just beat the other team to a pulp and grind the clock away minutes at a time. Could we beat Baltimore that way if we meet again? I'm pretty confident we can but we need to be slipping the playcalling a little more towards the run starting now in my opinion. If the field and turf conditions are manageable Ben and yound money can still hit the daggers on opponents when needed maybe even to put the game away for good. I just feel when we hit December and early January this pitch and catch isn't going to cut it. This could determine our season's outcome in my opinion. Thoughts?

It never bothered Tom Brady much so I don't think it will bother us that much...I tell you if we have to run the ball a lot I am afraid we will be in trouble

Well, Ben really seems to pick up his game in the winter weeks. Not sure if that's true statistically, but it seems that way. As far as the run game goes, maybe the colder it gets, the less stutter stepping Mendy will do.

*I'll concede that he has been doing less of that lately

I remember reading a post from someone who felt the cold weather actually helped our passing game.
I couldn`t see the logic in that, until they explained they thought Ben throws better with gloves on...
I don`t know that I agree with that...
But it is an interesting thought...
Personally... I think the running game helps big-time in inclement weather...be it rain, snow, cold, wind, or whatever...
But, If Ben is that much better/ more accurate wearing a glove on his throwing hand,
What`s to stop him from wearing it every game of the year?
Getting laughed at?!?! :hmmm:

I seem to remember this getting talked about a year or two ago. (I remember thinking at the time, if there are any statistics about how well Ben plays with or without gloves on, then the person keeping those statistics should probably take a look at their life and its purpose.)

Anyway, I wondered if he pump-faked less with a glove on, and this improved his play. I presume he doesn't wear them all year round because the heat might be uncomfortable.

The running game is the reason we made it to the big dance last year......When we got into the playoffs we started running more.....We started giving Redman the ball more......Redman averaged over 7 ypc in the playoffs then we got to the Superbowl and wanted to go pass happy and it cost us the game......The same reason we lost the Ravens game we didn't run the ball enough and we failed to use the run to close out the game.......
