I care. As someone who has served my country to protect the Constitution of the United States in some of the most obscure sh!tholes across the globe, I care. As someone who would die for my country and the freedoms that we have that are unparalleled anywhere in the world, I care. And while I personally believe that Ms. Joseph's comments are those of an unappreciative protected sycophant, I respect her right to free speech and would die to protect her freedom to do so. And I don't know you nor your personal beliefs, so I'm not going to level any insults at you or anything that you believe. But I care and so do millions of other Americans who would (and have) fight and die for our way of life, our freedoms, and our Constitution. You asked, I answered.

The point is she has the right to say or not say the pledge of allegiance. Losing sleep over something like this tantamount to crying over spilled milk IMO. People cry about this type of **** all the time, but ignore the te fact that the "under god" part want even part of the pledge until the late 1950's.

No sir. It is not crying over spilled milk, it is crying over spilled blood. The blood of thousands of men and women who have paid the ultimate price to ensure our freedom. You are correct, she has the right to not say the pledge, which as I stated before, I would defend that right to the end. And yes, I lose sleep over people who feel like they need to try and tear down the tenets that provide the foundational cornerstones of our country. It is like someone taking the very blanket they sleep under that provides them warmth at night and burning it (because they can), and then complaining that they are cold and expecting someone to come to their rescue. And if someone chooses to ignore God, they should not be surprised when God denies them. "But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven." -Mathew 10:33

With respect to anyone's views, I thought the rules of this site were very clear. No politics.

I know it's hard to refrain from it sometimes. I know it's even fun to sling it around now and then. But political discussions NEVER sway someone's opinion. Not on the internet anyway. All they ever really do is cause rifts, resentments, and usually devolve into gang mentality and insult hurling. This site is intended to unite Steelers fans. Just keeping the arguments civil in football is dicey at times. :)

Yes, this sub-forum is a catch all for anything non-sports related. But politics (and religion) should still be avoided. They never end well. There are plenty of other message boards for that if you're interested.
