Just saw on the NFL network that Tomlin wanted to sign Vick after he got released from prison in 2009. That's the first time I had ever heard that. Anyone else hear that before? Wonder what Ben thinks about that? Vick would not of been a backup forever as we've seen. Interesting!

I remember it well. I'm a little surprised by all the talk about this by the media today like it's new news, because it was a big deal when it was happening. It was preseason '09. I couldn't find the video I was remembering, but in this video he touches on it. He basically said that he and Vick grew up in the same area and knew each other, and something along the lines of 'my own Quarterback is going through some things of his own right now, and he needs my full support and attention right now.'

I have been hesitant to question Tomlin's decisions so far. No more. WTF was he thinking? Even skipping over the part where Vick is a dog-killer, why would you want him on your team?? I think he is the most over rated QB of our generation (not counting draft flops). Sure his stats are gaudy and he can run fast, but the guy hasn't won jack at any level of competitive football. He is easily the most overpaid QB in the league

Thankfully, the Rooneys told him NO WAY

Like TTF i too remember the rumblings of this. Signing him to be the backup at a cheap rate I wouldnt have been against...but he probably would have just signed elsewhere for bigger money eventually...so no harm no foul or whatever, haha.

LOL, Vick never would have unseated Ben, in case you haven't noticed, Ben aint Kevin Kolb. Anyway, this is old news, media is up to it's tricks again.

Actually it was BEFORE the stuff happened in Georgia. The article suggests that Tomlin wanted to get Vick as a back-up and claims that it is a good thing that the Steelers did not get him, because it would have ended up being even more of a distraction when the stuff going on with Ben happened.

This is old news, I remember it being discussed when Vick was released from prison and wanting to play again in the NFL. Dungy really tried to get teams to consider him. I wouldn't have had a problem with him being a Steeler, he would have been a great backup to have, but that's just it, he would have been a backup and he's too good to be a backup. I don't care what people say about him being a dog killer, he paid his debt to society and deserves to make a living. However, when I heard about him going to Philly my first thought was it is a great place for him to go, they have a jail in their stadium!

Thank goodness the Rooney said no to bringing Vick here. I am so glad this convicted felon never got a chance here. Hopefully, he will have his neck snapped (just like he did to some of those poor dogs) by James Harrison on Sunday.

I don't generally like violence and I definitely don't think this forum is the place for violence, but for some reason I have no problem making an exception here. If we were allowed to hold his legs up and keep his head in the gatorade until he stopped twitching, I would support that. The only hesitation I have is that it's too fast and doesn't let him experience all his personal favorite methods of torture. Snapping the neck is too quick too. The real good stuff comes when the neck doesn't snap. That way it's a nice grinding strangle, by his own body weight. What else is there? Body slamming to death? Being eaten alive? I haven't done complete research because I don't want to know more than I already do, but I bet there's some more. I'd very much like to give him the Sampler.
