The Browns being 4-1 in our division helped with them not playing down imo. Still scolding them for last year's fiasco could have played a part. They beat us down pretty bad that 1st game.

I think it feels different because they swept the trash out the door. They were gone last season, but Ben was hurt early on and our offense was one dimensional. This team fights for one another and sticks together. They play as a team, not mostly a team with 3 or 4 divas worried about their own marketability and bank account.

I am not crowning anyone anything at this point as we are seeing a sample of what looks to be very promising but we have some more tests to take first. We have been very fortunate injury wise and now we are facing Bush being gone and everyone remember what happened to our D when Shazier was injured? Supposedly losing him was our excuse of why we sucked so bad on defense from that point on (which is nonsense as Shazier wasn't all world by any means). So, lets see how we progress with adversity and hope that the trend continues because we have a beast our D needs to stop next week and that will give more evidence of what we hope we have right now.

Great job so far 5-0 is 5-0. Keep it going. 1-1 next two weeks would be huge can’t drop both

If we are undefeated after the Ratbirds game THEN you can brow beat the haters and they will have no choice but to eat humble pie. The argument can still be made we have not been truly tested yet. I think the Titans are very good and a true test. If we pass that test, beating the Ratbirds announces to the NFL we are elite.

Lord forbid, but how can they do if Ben misses say like 6 games ..Can they win 3 of those ? All is clicking now , but when we get up big we need to use those snaps to prepare our BU QB's just in case ..IMO they need to find a hat for Dobbs and work in a RPO package a few snaps a game as well ...

"We had a better plan," head coach Mike Tomlin offered. "It starts with us as coaches, and then the guys performed better, and they finished it off.

"We both were JV last week, players and coaches, and we got better this week."

Thanks, Mike, for agreeing with me and telling some of these yahoos around here that it starts with coaching. You coach better, they play better.

Hear that, yahoos? His words, not mine. Well, actually they were my words first.

It's funny, though, last week he was also saying that nothing needed to change, and that changing our plan would do a disservice to the other teams. Maybe he reads this board and finally decided to listen to me.

    You're welcome!

The difference between Cowher and Tomlin is just semantics:

Cowher made competitive teams from limited talent.

Tomlin has made limited teams from competitive talent.:lolol:

A HOF QB who has a history of underperforming in the playoffs. Just compare Ben's playoff numbers to Joe Flacco's, for instance. I never understand why Tomlin is criticized for coming up small in the playoffs with a HOF QB while the HOF QB often lays stinkers and doesn't get blamed.

What I like about this team this year that Tomlin gets credit for. Very disciplined. Fewer mistakes, fewer penalties. Tomlin has these boys prepared week in and week out. Challenge flags and time management has not been a problem either. I see us going far this year. Maybe even all the way to the big show. Will see.

Not sure what team you followed back then? Cowher didn't have limited talent.

I followed the Steelers and they had a number of years under Cowher with limited talent.
