Congrats to Tomlin for having the team well prepared, the adjustments made on the defense was spot on, Cleveland was averaging 35 pts a game coming into this game and were absolutely manhandled by the Steelers defense. Great job Butler great job Tomlin, front runner for coach of the year....

This team was laser focused today. Everyone brought their lunch pail and everyone contributed. Tomlin and the coaching staff would get my game ball.

Great win today and it was in convincing fashion. The team finally came together.

Credit to Tomlin and the coaching staff.

That gave me a good chuckle!! I sort of feel bad for Tomlin after seeing this thread. Poor guy can't make a mistake or he will get ripped apart in this thread.

Well. If the Browns sucked Tomlin would have played down to them. Only half kidding.

Congrats Mike. Good solid win today.:drinks:

Something seems " different " about this team...I think they know this is probably the best/ last chance with Ben...Playing focused and with urgency

Can we apply the same standard to all of your posts or is only Tomlin subject to review months later?

I'm one of Tomlins biggest critics ( maybe the Biggest ) idc.. But, This was an impressive Ass win, a dominating win!

Now the question is, Are we that good, or were the Clowns over - hyped?

When you win a game like that, Even if you don't like Tomlin ( like me ) you can't hardly ***** about it though...Even if you don't like the guy...You can't say something bad about him after that game, That would just be silly

I don't know what Mike is eating for breakfast these days, but I'll have a bowl.

I still have my problems with him. Old habits die hard.

But this team is different. And that starts and ends with our HC. The players aren't necessarily performing much better than in the past. There are splash plays on both sides of the ball and contributions from new players, but there always are.

The difference is HOW they are playing. The difference is that they look hungry but unselfish about who gets to eat.

In the past, they would have let this Browns team have a chance. They would have played down to their level. They would have came out rusty and taken a half to get going.

None of that is happening, and it's making them a dangerous team, regardless of our record. We'll lose a game we should win at some point this season. But that's not Tomlin's fault with a team playing the way they are playing. That's just the nature of competition.

Mike T deserves a lot of credit for the product on the field right now. I hope he keeps eating his new favorite breakfast, whatever that is.

I've been critical of Tomlin.... and fairly so after not really winning a playoff game since 2010 w/ a HOF QB. There's not a coach in the NFL that would have been given that patience except maybe Bellicheat.

That said, this is the best looking team Tomlin has had in a VERY long time... maybe since our last SB win. The one glaring difference I'm seeing... we look more disciplined we look prepared. We are still making plenty of mental mistakes but it's vastly better than what we have seen for the last 10 years. Special teams play is IMO an indicator of just how sound your coaching staff is.... sloppy special teams play almost always means bad coaching and lack of attention to details. This is by far the best special teams play we have had in decades.

That all said it's only 5 wins. Last I looked it usually takes 10 wins to make the playoffs and that doesn't mean squat if you don't win a playoff game. This team needs to be battling for a SB birth. If we aren't in the AFCC game and Ben is healthy my opinion of Tomlin will be the same as it has been for the last decade. mediocre at best.

I have been as critical of Tomlin as anybody. But he has kept the Steelers focused through some pretty tough times. Coach of the year through 5 games IMO.
