Yep. He sat out a year for the payday. He knew he can't finish a season, & the Jets like to shoot holes in the ceiling.

I think the league is approaching a point where there are enough QB’s to go around, college QB’s coming out are more ready than ever and the guys already in the league are playing longer as the rules move more and more to protect them. There are very few teams with truly bad starters now.

If Ben retires without a successor I think the worst case scenario is you play a few years with a Bridgewater / Carr / Garropolo type free agent before you find your guy.

    Yeah...

Again, the team is not going to wait for "the next one" by simply pondering the many questions of "what if". There will be too many unanswered questions about the 2021 Draft Class not named Lawrence, Fields or Lance.

They have no chance at the big 3 in the draft class, maybe have a shot at a QB like Kyle Trask if they're interested, Mason is under contract for 2021 still.

Mason has not done much of anything though sans getting his head caved in and his own Offensive Coordinator admitting that he does not trust him. Never mind that, we have no idea how well Mason looks since there is no preseason to speak of. Anything at this point about him until reported is nothing but heresy.

As for Kyle Trask, I would entertain that idea wholeheartedly. I would also consider Mac Jones but I believe he is just benefitting from the likes of Jalen Waddle and Alabama's endless cache of Wideouts. Zach Wilson from BYU is my Wild Card.

At any point, Pittsburgh has shown that it will trade for a player if it helps them. Minkah showed that last season.

Thats why he did what he did. He doesn't have to play another snap of football and has 28 guaranteed secured in the bank.

In the league currently? No not any young'uns that would sit for a few years. I'd rather go after the other NY qb when they have their dumpster fire sale.

Was listening to ESPN this morning and one of the said while he never get that 15 million back, the Steelers refused to give the man his money. Say what? Now this guy was a former player and they (former players) have been making the same spin on the 'boys screwing Dak. Honestly hated to see Lev go, also honestly glad he refused the team offer. Players (former or otherwise) will likely always stand together, but come on, both the 'Boys and Steelers offers were compelling and very much market based. Some time you gamble and lose, teams, agents, and players alike.
