Will Anyone Wear 84 on the Steelers Roster?

I know there are a few numbers that are not retired, but have never been given out again such as 12, 32, 36, 43, 58, 59 , 75 and 86. (I'm sure I'm missing one or two.) However, 82, 88 have been handed out since Stallworth and Swann retired. I know it has only been two seasons and AB put out a string of seasons which will make him an all time great. I do think the way he ended his time here nullifies that and the number now holds nothing special. Just curious of other's thoughts of when we will seen this number handed out again.

 

Absolutely we will see it again and probably soon! I agree that his cancerous attitude does not decree his number unattainable.

The way this team drafts WR almost yearly I think someone will nab it sooner rather than later.

 

It would be wise to give it to the next up and coming star to help erase Ab from our memory banks. I don't care what he did on the field, he is a human being the world would be better off without.

I'd go the opposite route. It should go to a marginal player. Giving it to a guy that's on the bottom of the depth chart takes the pressure of later 84s.

 

I get what you are saying but I honestly can't see how #84 puts any pressure on anyone? Especially in Pittsburgh.
