Yes, that would be the short end of the stick. We got it like always.

This type of thing never happens to the Patriots. The difference is our media heads call us babies for wanting whats fair. Patriots had one of the biggest sports outlets, Barstool calling Goodell a clown and selling shirts because he punished the Patriots for clearly cheating. Patriots media outlets would never just accept an adjust ruling and call the fans babies and tell them to suck it up. They would defend the organization tooth and nail.

We always take the high road and get... the short end of the stick.

No disagreements there, but since when is life fair? What does fairness have to do with the NFL? It's about competing and winning regardless of your circumstances. I understand why the NFL didn't want to get into forfeiting games, because that is not sports. I also get why they might force the Titans to forfeit future games if they can't follow COVID protocols. You know the saying, fool me once...

I am glad the Titans didn't have to forfeit their game against us. I don't want to win like that. I want them to play the game and I want the Steelers to beat them the old fashioned way.

Wait till the shoe is on the other foot and it is the Steelers with the 5+ positive tests and the league changes its policy and makes the Steelers either play without the players our worse yet, forfeit the game!

This has always been my one beef with Tomlin and the Ownership they always just roll over when the league screws them over.

You are likely correct, however they were in the words of some radio host "still investigating the entire history" to see what (if any) things were violated. If serious enough every penalty should be under consideration, including forfeit of every game. That said, doubtful they will take that route.

I want to see if this defense can win against Henry and the Titans power run game and id rather find out in October not January. A forfeit is like a participation trophy or winning Wimbledon on a foot fault. I want both teams to play. None this you didn't face us bs like happened the year Brady had his knee taken out.

I tend to agree, but as of right now, TN won't be playing any games if they don't stop kissing each other in the showers. We sure they've not got mono and not Covid?

Problem with moving games is that you might not have two Covid-healthy teams available when the adjusted game rolls around. What do you do then?

What if TN is clean and we end up with positives? Do we forfeit?

Moving games in this environment BEGS for fate to step in and rear its ugly head.

The league better come down hard on the Titans. peoples lives and livelihoods are
on the line here. I also want to bring up covid stats from John Hopkins. Nashville and Memphis
Both smaller population county's than (Allegheny PGH) yet their Covid rate is twice what Allegheny county is?
You could say the same for similiar sized states = to pa. NC, GA, These two states aren't nearly as populated as Pa
yet that have enormous covid rates. why is this?

I didn’t want a forfeit, I wanted them to play last weekend and I think Pittsburgh probably would have won.

What I don’t like is the league possibly giving forfeits in some cases and not others. That distorts the competition and is blatant favouritism quite frankly. Because of the rearranged game the Steelers will now have to play two division rivals coming off bye weeks within three weeks at a time when the injuries and niggles will start to become a factor.

All that we can ask for is that everybody is treated the same. We’ll see

As long as the old fashioned way is the 70s defensive shut out and artistic WRs scoring on huge plays. Not the more recent old fashioned way of doing nothing for three and a half quarters then Ben mounting a last minute comeback drive and us all suffering near-strokes... :smiley1:

    Yep, this is it.

They could only make them forfeit our game if evidence came to light that they had practised during that week as well. Otherwise the Titans would have a strong case of saying they were being punished for rules they didn't break.

If they carry on this way, they'll probably have to forfeit the rearranged game with us anyway...

Just for ****s and giggles I was perusing the Titans forum to see what they made of it.

They seem to hold the journalist most responsible, as apparently they reported it out of spite; and the NFL for making the rules up as they go along.

A bit further on there's some more interesting points about what rules the Titans broke and how long they had been in force.

Guess I'll be in the minority here, but the comments by Ben make him sound like a whiner. Yes, moving the bye week sucks this early in the year but you HAD to expect this to happen at one point this season. The whole nation is dealing with this crap and you piss n moan about a game being moved? You are still going to play it just not when expected. I'm sure he's anxious to play after a year off and is probably frustrated about covid like everyone else. And usually I'm all for the players speaking their mind, but he still needs to learn to pick his battles imo.

If the fans and Pittsburgh media did their job then Ben wouldn't have to speak up. It's bull**** because we are the only team out of 32 being penalized. Bills are going to get a free win but not us.

our schedule is soft enough this year, I'd rather play a good team in the reg. season to sharpen them up.

Ahh yes. The positive test are going to magically stop. It's been going on for a week now but watch it magically stop tomorrow because the NFL wants to force them to play all their games.

It does. Both him and McDonald

Tomlin took the high road. His players should have learned from him.

I’m assuming they will have to then move the Bills next game since it’s Thursday night. No way the play on two days rest.

I believe you are correct about all of this, but it's a disgrace. The Steelers are being royally screwed.
