While Pro Bowl selections then we're far different than now I think a better reference might be his selection as 1st team QB of the all 70s team. Others had greater stats, even were all pro, yet he was placed ahead of them all.

Yeah but, Mahomes and Wilson don’t have Randy Fichtner. Ben does.

I agree with that part it's just that "top tier" has never been reserved for just two players.........after three games. Remember that Wilson has never received an MVP vote.

I think Mahomes would make Todd Haley look good.

I don't know about that but I think if Futchner had MaHomes, he would focus on the running game to make sure the youngster doesn't screw it up.

Only way you beat mahomes is if receivers drop the ball.

dude makes good pre snap reads, good decisions on the run, he’s accurate, doesn’t fold under a pass rush and he’s clutch. Only weakness will be him getting hurt

I think it's a bit early in his career to classify him the GOAT.

I will bet you a case of IC light that, by the end of this year, he will not be infallible, as you describe him here.:drinks:

He could sit the bench until Ben retires

I mean, doing something like taking Darnold or another "outcast QB" from a bad team might not be a bad plan after Ben. They could always have a Fitzpatrick type back up plan and then draft one if it all doesn't work out. I thought the same thing about Jameis last year. Those are the types of guys I see as a reclamation project post Ben. All of this changes if we draft someone that turns out to be a stud, but good chance we are drafting at the end of the first when Ben finally hangs them up.

how many deep balls has he missed? How many times have we seen him throw high, behind, or both? Does quarterback play alone account for wins and losses or is that indicative of a team effort?

He’s missed 33% of his passes, some his fault, some the receiver’s fault, some were throw always.

The average QB rating is currently 97, which Roethlisberger, 11th place, is about 8% higher. Of the QBs that are higher in QB rating, I would prefer Roethlisberger over 6 of them.

Of the ten above Ben I would prefer him over all but three. MaHomes, Wilson, and Rogers.
