As meatloaf said two out of three ain't bad. Three out of three would be better..... Anywho

I'm going to my son's for the game, not sure what's on tap for grub but it will be good. Some form of dead animal seared. I'm taking chips and homemade salsa. Watt U Got? Sorry bout the slacking off of this thread. Not so many gatherings this year I'm sure with the covid and such going on. Stay well. Go Stillers:steelflag::herewego!::drinks::smiley1::cool:

Homemade Roethlisburgers. I have been making them for a few years now, they are as close as I can get to the real thing from Peppi's.

Crab cakes and butternut squash soup. An odd combination but that’s what I have in the kitchen fridge.

And beer from an old beer fridge.

Oh that damn butternut squash is my enemy. I like it enough but what a pain in the ass to cut up. Wife was given 3 of them and won't let them go to waste. My hands were sore as hell from cutting them up. Finally put the third one in microwave for a minute and it did make it a little easier to cut up.

Cut it in half, seed it, put it cut side down on a greased pan, and bake it that way. It's done once the outside pushes in easily, maybe an hour at 375. Serve it with a little butter and brown sugar.

In honor of the Texans today, brisket has been on the coals since 5AM this morning. Grilled asparagus with EVOO and garlic and some homemade mashed potatoes with horseradish. Be nice to eat it during a big Steeler victory.

    Hmm....

Possibly Apple Cinnamon Covered Butternut Squash although Vegan Stir Fry Rice is not sounding too bad either.

Sausage gumbo over brown rice. Just wish there was shrimp in the gumbo. old lady made it & doesn't like seafood.

Chicken wings on the grill today. Half will be getting mango habanero sauce. The other half, asian zing. I might just season some as well. Haven't decided yet. Making up some chili nachos as well, paired with Sam Adams Oktoberfest.

Hopefully the heart attack I will have later today will be from the food and not the Steelers play. :lolol:

Funny reading this thread each week. For years my family would get together for the game as long as it was Sunday 1 or 4 and same thing was served every time. Wings and beer.

The year we beat the undefeated Eagles (their first loss of season, they went on to lose SB) and I mean we beat them for all 4 quarters, my sister made a cool cake half Steeler, half Eagle. We had about 40 people there and it was so sweet watching the Eagle fans leave in 3rd quarter.

    Love this.

When I went to Peppi's in 2006, I ordered one and told them that I was from Vermont and that the sandwich was definitely on my must do list this trip.

The good folks at Peppi's told me that they were flattered someone came from so far away to try their sandwich. In true kindness to strangers Burgh fashion, they brought over a pitcher of Pepsi to me. "This is on the house. In order to eat this sandwich, you are going to need a lot of this to wash it down."
