Yeah, I don’t get it, this defense is probably the best in the league, definitely top 3. They gave up 250 yards to Driskel

Show me the team with a secondary that locks other teams down. This is the NFL 2020, not 1980.

Yes and against a rookie QB. Sometimes playing against a backup QB is not all it cuts up to be. You game plan against someone and now you have to adjust on the fly

He looked worse than Tomlin week 1. Put his team behind the 8 ball.

Don't see them doing any worse against elite QBs myself. What scares me is when we meet that elite defense.

Just ask the Chiefs. They had to adjust to a new guy with 10 minutes notice.

Not much though? They like to go after Vince & Bush. Terrell is on the verge of something big. Big plays for the opposition or actually making one.

Keep them under 25 and ravens under 30 and I’ll be happy. With a win of course

Edmunds made one play with the help of a blown blocking assignment by the Broncos, and suddenly everyone thinks he is putting it together?

I think we are all giddy he made a big play, didn't screw it up. Progress for the young man.

Don't get me wrong. I'm thrilled that he made the play. I've seen Davis whiff on opportunities like that, so it is certainly a positive. The guy still can't cover and it isn't as if he is some great run defender, either.

He did beat out anyone trying to start at ss for the Steelers. Every year he has been here.

Agree that taking him in the first was a mistake. The Steelers were looking for secondary help in the draft for a few years there. Struck out mostly but Terrell has held his own enough for them to not reach for another ss.

Honestly, that doesn't mean much. Who have they had to compete with him?

I haven't seen enough to make me reconsider my assessment going into the season, which is that he is the worst starter on that defense.

    Vince has had his moments.
What about availability? Do you use that criteria when grading?

There’s rarely stifling shutdown defenses anymore. Bills gave up 28 points and 410 yards to Ryan Fitzpatrick (this guy always a starter for a new bad team each year? Lol) and the dolphins.

    8 different teams lol

Last great stifling defense I ever saw was the 2013 Seattle Seahawks. The legendary "Leigon of Boom". That secondary was the most dominant secondary of my lifetime and one of the greatest ever to do it.

To push this to the end, you want to argue that Tuitt is worse because he has had injuries? Knock yourself out. When they are on the field, Tuitt is an asset. Edmunds is the worst player on his team, and he is usually the worst player on the field.

Williams can't cover, either, but at least he can stop the run and he does make his share of big plays.

Not an asset on the bench, neither was Woodley. Terrell not an asset but on the field for most snaps. Maybe he's the new M. Wagner.
