With today’s win, Coach Tomlin & Ben Roethlisberger now have the third-most regular season wins by a head coach-quarterback tandem in NFL history, passing Coach Don Shula & Dan Marino (116).

Can't believe Danny only went to one Super Bowl. I always said Shula had the QB but couldn't build around him.

Seriously though. With our defense and running game back then; how many Superbowls would we have now? At least two or three more.

With his next win, Ben will also tie Dan Marino in all time wins at 147. Then John Elway at 148.

Brees has 164, not sure if he’ll play long enough to catch him.

On his heels are Aaron Rodgers and Russel Wilson. Both with similar career win percentages.

I doubt he reaches Drew Brees unless Drew retires after this season.

Thats some interesting research right there. During the Tomlin/Ben era, what was the most winning QB/Coach combo the Browns have had? I wonder if you will even find a pair with 10. :lolol:

Great accomplishment. More proof that Ben has carried Tomlin to notoriety. Without Ben, Tomlin is selling insurance right now.

And just think if TOMLIN knew how to put teams away and play up to competition what those numbers might look like. I will take 2-0 obviously but still see glaring problems with game management and late game execution

Not sure that the number of wins proves anything other than they've won a lot of games.

In terms of the with/without Ben thing, BTSC did an interesting analysis of the stats on this, worth a look. Clearly it's just a bit of fun, as there's no way of telling who would be QB if Ben wasn't here.
