It's still disturbing that a backup QB with limited reps racked up good stats against our D.

 

The failed 4th and 2 try was a head scratcher. If you’re going to go for it then go for it. Don’t try to draw them offside, burn a TO then go for it. I wonder how much Ben and Fichtner were in Tomlin’s ears during the TO

 

I think most are aware we almost threw it away, but what 'some people' do not realize is this is only the second game, after no preseason, a QB coming back from injury, with new receivers, an OL down 2 starters and main G b/u. No doubt stupid play calls, stupid execution, stupid penalties...yet we got the win. So chill.

 

It would be nice to see the Texans win just because that means the Ravens lose. Lol

You are correct. We are Steeler fans and we expect our guys to always play well. I try to remember that regardless how much I think our boys are better, the other side is full of Pro's who think their better. That is why a hell of a lot of games keep you guessing until some point in the 4th quarter.

 

This, and the series in the 1st half when they got the back at midfield, this after a brilliant TD pass. You take that gift and strike again, but we get cute with stupid calls. That is the most frustrating thing to me. The penalties are horrible, but as the season goes on there will be more attention to what the ref's are looking for. We could have/should have been on cruise control after the first half. We go turtle way to early, and far to often.

 

This is a 9-7 team. Just as I thought.

Yeah, so far what I take from the first 2 games is that we will have to play pretty much a mistake free game (1 at most) and take very few penalties. And Ben may have to light it up when we go against upper tier QB's. I fear the Ravens and Browns got me worried. Burrows will have growing pains and we better win both games.

A lot of teams looked empty today. Some finally got it going.

 

Well, at the moment, they are a 2-0 team.

 

Glad we won but I have one big problem.

We led the entire game and had only 19 rushing attempts. While up by more than 10 for a big chunk of the game gave them a perfect opportunity to pound them into submission with your two big backs until you broke them. Nope. There's no reason in the world Ben had over 40 pass attempts in that game!

 

That is not true. Mason and Duck played well when they first started. Then when teams had a chance to game plan for them, thats when the **** hit the fan. See, this is where I keep questioning if some of you really pay attention when the games are being played.

Same old story ever year in this board. You should be use to this by now. Every time we play a less talented team we get real lax in our approach to the game. Dam lucky we won this game.

 

Off topic: Enjoy that high scoring Dallas game???? Just goofing with you I'm loving this week. Eagles 0-2 Steelers 2-0!!! Still stressed for when we play them.

I felt for you when Dallas won but I need them to keep the Eagles away from the top of NFC East. Sorry!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
