Ben looked pretty good considering this was his first game in a year.

I think the sack was a blessing and a curse. The curse ... poor decision, to hold onto the ball that long. Plus, we were in the Redbone. Blessing ... Ben, got the first hit out of the way and then he began to play without caution. Plus, we still got points out of the drive

The giants are incompetent all across the board but still I liked what I saw with Ben. He looked way more sharp and on point than he has in recent years openers. He looks more confident and focused.

Looked like a guy who hasn’t played football in a while.

3 TD’s and ZERO interceptions is a nice first game back though. The yards will come in time.

And adding that there was no pre-season to get game speed reps I think he did as well as anyone should have expected if not more. He still holds the ball a little longer than I'd like but that's Ben.

He had more rushing yards than S Barkley. Wasn’t too slow to accomplish that.

Brady is going to find this out the hard way to colossal levels.

If that was the stat line for a guy who just came back after missing a year, I would have laughed at it and called that person a bit too optimistic!!

Rusty but got more ready as the game wore on. Not worried about him. That which protects him is another story.

The Steelers radio call was the worst. They made it seem like Ben was done and in an air cast and Rudolph was warning up to come in. Then they suddenly realized it was just something to keep Ben's arm warm. I was about to give up on the season.

    I thought Ben played well.

I'll be honest, I didn't like seeing him taking so many shots last night from the Giants front 7.

I think his arm is fine, but it was scary seeing him slightly tweak that knee on that one play, and almost again on a second hit.

If we want to have any chance of the post season, Steelers O-Line needs to keep him clean.

I think for coming back from a major injury to his throwing arm, he looked pretty good. I mean rusty, but good all things considered.

edit: also that final drive of the first half with like a 1:30 was a thing of beauty.

It seems to me that Ben always started slow in games but ususally played better as games progressed. It seems that trend played out in the Giants game.

I'm glad he and the Oline got their acts together.

Do you think this will be a shock to Him? I have always believed he was ultra smart and ultra level headed. If he is shocked by the reduced impact he has the Buc's offense I will be surprised.

I think he looked much better than expected. However, he's still a 38 year old QB with a history of getting knocked around a lot. Can his "old" (for an NFL player) body take the abuse for a whole season? I'm still skeptical on that one.

I was concerned that Ben kept grabbing his knee. Has anyone heard anything about a potential knee injury?

After Ben's slow start in the first few series I was hearing fans at the stadium shouting "Put Mason in!!!" Oh, wait,... that may have been Mason's mom. Does that count?

Since there were NO fans in the stadium, she must have been yelling really loud for you to hear her all the way from her home!! :)

Ben needs to know when to turtle, like Brady, but I do not think it's in his DNA. If Snell can provide a consistent running game, play action should keep players off Ben. The key is the o-line, which will be missing 3 of their top 6, if DeCastro isn't back.

I think he looked fairly good he missed a few throws high , but that's normal for him.. I just hope he is willing to lean on the run more and manage the game until the moving parts on the OL get some cohesiveness ...

Back in the mid 70’s there was a lady who sat a few rows behind me in peanut heaven who I swear had to be Terry Hanratty’s mom.

In keeping with your train of thought:

“I was saying today I feel like I was just in a car accident.” Roethlisberger said via Zoom Wednesday. “Yesterday, I felt like I was in a train wreck. Hopefully, tomorrow it just feels like I fell off a bike or something. I’m definitely sore. The good news is my arm is the only thing that doesn’t hurt. That’s good.”

p.s. He knows something about falling off a bike.

I will give you gifted in terms of smarts. In terms of keeping his ego in check?! Have to disagree.

Brady is an egomaniac. Plenty of stories about him being such.
