Should be back in time with the bye for sure. Good news

On a side note, does anyone else think it's strange that JH is on twitter? Just doesn't seem to fit his personality at all :lolol:

Ok you are taking it way too far what do you want troy to play like ed reed who has no urge to tackle anybody. The way troy play he is going to get hurt it happens. Its now week 4 i would rather him rest so he is at full strength when games start mattering. Remember when the broncos started 6-0 and finished 7-9 or how about the chargers starting 0-4 and finishing 10-6. its a long season and you cant have taz and somebody who shys away from contact all in the same player.

All the games matter unless you have clinched #1 seed or are mathematically eliminated from the playoffs. You can argue that head-head competition w/ division opponents matters more, but all other games have the same importance up until the playoffs.

Cant a man have a little joke?

That being said, TPs injuries are becoming annoying. I know it because of how he plays the game and his age, but he's just flat out unreliable at this point. As good as he can be Im starting to wonder if he's really worth keeping around after this year.

I saw the pic of James in the "Caption" thread and he looks quite a bit bigger to me. Did he gain weight or does he still have to "shape up" for the game? I would suppose if he had knee problems he couldn't really work out right?

Bigger the better if you ask me. Someone has to hold the edge on run defense and James may be the only one that can handle it. We could use some toughness on our defense.

Thank you, that is exactly right. I hate hearing how early games don't matter. It's one thing to hear a fan say that, but I've heard Steeler coaches say that in the past and it drives me crazy. The early games could potentially not matter later, but that doesn't mean that a coach should approach the early season as if those games aren't as important, because it can (and absolutely has) come back to bite later when the playoffs are missed because of having a record that requires a scenario where "these 3 teams have to lose and these 2 have to win" in order to get to post season. Winning that one game that "didn't matter" would have made all of the difference.

I think in our division with the Ravens as a threat and the Bengals really look to be up and coming that we need EVERY win we can get. It's not like the AFC West where you can win 8 and get the division. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't we 12-4 last year and a WILD CARD? That's good enough for a bye in most years but our division is tough.

DING!! DING!! 12-4 "Wildcard" Travel to Denver already banged up and a healthy scratch Clark is out.....Tebow has best game ever!

Bring that game to Pittsburgh it's a different story.

Yeah and one of the games that really sent us to Denver was the very first game of the year when we came out and stunk up the joint against Baltimore. I know that's a division game but still I think you need to bring it every week in this league. It's like in 07 when the Pats would play someone they knew they were better than but they had that killer instinct to go out there and play like their lives depended on it. I'm not somebody that has a problem with "running up the score". If you're a pro then you should be a pro all the time. From whistle to whistle and have NO MERCY as the Sensei from one of the greatest pieces of American cinema would say. MERCY IS FOR THE WEAK! You gotta be willing to go out there every week and SWEEP THE LEG! Somebody stop me! I'm on a roll here!

Look, I like Troy as much as anyone else here, really! But I get the joke and, at the same time, when you say "Its now week 4 i would rather him rest so he is at full strength when games start mattering" can't it just as easily be said, "Why so he can get hurt again later in the season and be hurt twice for the year"? It's not like it hasn't happened before! Maybe Troy needs to take a different approach to how he plays the game. I know...then Troy wouldn't be Troy. It is hard not to look at how Troy plays and then look at a guy like Ray Lewis, both purported to be the best at their position, and he just seems to get better and better. What is he doing differently?

I've been thinking about this as scientifically as possible, and I have concluded the main difference is that Ray Lewis phones more people up in order to offer sage words of advice. That has to help, right?

As good as he can be doesn' help when he's sitting on the sidelines. He needs to adjust (as does DL) his style of play as he gets older.

I am so tired of hearing that we are glad he is hurt now so he can rest and come back when games matter. The fact if he is hurt already he will be hurt when we need him. These nagging injuries aren't just going to magically disappear when we get to the games that "matter".

Do we even know which play Troy got hurt on? His injuries are always enigmatic to me. He's fine it seems and then suddenly he's hurt. It's weird.

Has he truly been healthy since the end of the 2010 season? He was obviously not healthy in the Super Bowl and the Packers exploited that. You're right, blount, his injuries are enigmatic and it's very frustrating that we really haven't seen a totally healthy Troy in 2 years or longer.
