They really are stuck between a rock and a hard place with Ben's deal. I mean we all are secretly or not so secretly hoping it is more like Elways final two years than Manning's but with this deal no matter what they live and die with him. Can he change who he is? I doubt think so but he can win on the next two years with the tools he has after that who knows.

Manning was never that good under pressure. Great at running an offense but usually got rattled in clutch time most of his career. Elway, I never liked him for dissing the Colts. He was pretty clutch though.

Isn't Manning the all-time leader in game winning drives and come from behind victories?
Or are you referring to Eli...

No Peyton. I suffered through many seasons of Peyton's happy feet while he was in Indy. You could tell when he was rattled because he would shuffle his feet before his bad throw.

As far as your stats, you have a great argument.

Not sure about if @Roonatic is talking about Peyton or Eli but I was talking about Peyton. His first year in Denver he was Peyton Manning and then just completely came undone. The defense won him that ring. Elway had enough left to help out but the team around him got him his rings and he didn't get in the way.

So Ben has a shot a 2 more rings if he plays with a little more smarts. Like keeping the opposing defense on the field while keeping our best chance rested. Dupree will be making $25mil per if they win the SB this year.

    Peyton Manning -

    2 post season comebacks
2 post season game winning drives

1 was against the Steelers in 2015..
1 was against the Cheats in 2006..:dancing:
Both times he won the SB...:applaud:
    Playoff career 14-13
In jeh's words "what could have been"

    For @jeh1856
    Big Ben
    3 post season comebacks
4 post season game winning drives

1 was because of Peezy in Cincy
    Playoff career 13-8

Back on track, will Claypool be higher in the rotation than Ben's buddy Switz?

Well, I remember him coming back from a deep hole (I think 21-6) in the AFCCG vs. the Pats in his first SB season. He was very clutch in the second half that day, and it got him a championship.

Peyton had some real stinkers in the playoffs. I waited a long time for him to shed the can't win the big one. You remember Vanderjagt blowing his comeback against the Steelers? Peyton has been bad mouthing him since. What was with him hitting the turf afraid of the sack & getting back up for a completion against the Steelers in 2015? Eli, still my favorite Manning.

Not game one by any means. Tomlin made it clear that at least early on experience will win playing time. Claypool will have to take advantage of his limited early playing time if he’s to get more. True of all rookies and new FA.

If Claypool doesn't get 500 snaps, I am not sure he hits the numbers in your tagline.

Actually, JW has more time with ben the anyone else but juju. DJ was a rookie last year and didn't really come on until Ben was out. Ebron hasn't played with ben. Claypool is only behind in NFL time not really just time with ben compared to several guys on this team. I'm not ruling Cain out of the running yet. He's a fast bigger target too. Again though, no time with ben. This will come down too what Ben makes of it. It will and always has been who Ben gets the most comfortable with. It may be Vance McDonald juju and JW at first.

Switzer is the new Heath. AB shattered Ben's trust in his buddys. Big things in store for the leprechaun.

Put him early to throw some bombs deep to help defenses respect the deep ball

Expect to see this a lot, Claypool is going to be a matchup problem in the red zone for opponents.

Not to be nitpicking but why did he jump there? If that was live that was a bad spot to leap because he has to secure the ball in an awkward jump while the defender just bats it down. Work in progress.

The options without Ben are all very bad. None of the goober smooches on the roster are QB1 material. Not even close.

I'm not sure it'll be even that long. He seems very focused and coachable. He might not get 10 targets a game, but I definitely believe he starts contributing rather quickly.

Also, if he can establish himself as a legit weapon, he would become a HUGE decoy for the rest of the receiving corps!

So, who is the fastest receiver? Who can truly stretch the field?

    eg Mike Wallace

    Thanks

Just trying to put it in perspective just for myself. This apparently is slower than Mike Wallace but faster than Antonio Brown.
