The Packers at one point last nite had like 4 or 5 rookies playing on their defense. Not because of injuries but because they wanted them in the game.

Curtis Brown, in his 2nd year, doesn't see the field on defense, Te'Amu doesn't dress right now I believe, Golden playes on specials only, etc.

I don't know if Lebeau just refuses to play rookies defenders asa rule or if its too hard for them to learn the scheme, but Dom Capers basically runs the same scheme more the less and they had rookie, dbs and dlineman in last nite.

Bruce Irvin is running after Rodgers like a mad man as a "one trick pony", more the less right now and creating havoc for the seahawks.

I have to admit, I get jealous watching other rookies playing and not ours.
By the time these guys start playing, they are in their late 20s and we only get a good 4 years out of them. Most of them anyway.

Thsi team has won 6 superbowls and as much as I love winning, I would sacrifice one year of watching rookie defenders take their lumps and learning if it meant by that seasons end they would be ready to start dominating the next season.

Lebeau comes from the old George Allen school of dont trust rookies, remember when Allen would trade away all of his draft picks for veterans and had the oldest team in the NFL, well, you can see how we ended up with the oldest defense: Lebeau doesnt trade away our draft picks for vets, but he lets the players he does draft get old on the bench. Rookies today are better prepared in college to play in the NFL on day one, whisenhunt starts rookies on defense his latest rookie to start is Petersen who had a great rookie year and is having an even better one this year: Pete Carrol starts rookies on that shut down defense he has, so yes lets put the rookies in the lineup and what better way to discover a star player early on and also get younger and fresher legs on the field to boot????

Last year the Patriots ranked #31 on defense, the Packers #32. When you are the worst, its easy to find players who will improve your defense.
Ta'amu can't play over Casey Hampton or Steve McClendon. Curtis Brown and Robert Golden are numbers 4 and 5 on the depth chart.
Our defense is playing without 2 recent DPOYs. We will improve when they return. Am I happy we gave up 34 points to Oakland? Hell no. But I'm not about to condemn one of the greatest defensive minds in the history of the game because of a bad game.

Not to argue...but this is just one of many bad games in recent years by DL's defense. I hate to say it but its true. Now I'm not saying I'm ready to hang him/etc...but just pointing that out.

I think we'll improve as well when troy and james start playing, contrary to popular belief that troy and james are done. I think James is gonna come back hungry.

But it wouldn't hurt to see Adrian Robinson rush the qb on a 3rd and long for example and see if he can make something happen, because Worilds and Cater aren't getting anywhere near the qb. Whats the worst that can happen.

The Steelers will continue to stay the course and be a success franchise while some Steeler's fans envy other team's players, get jealous, and panic. The Steelers haven't been successful because they panic after every bad game.
