I feel sorry for fringe players, they will have less chance at making team.

I suspect that around the second week of November the season will kick off.

Yea for sure, every year some fringe player will stick out during pre-season games and makes the rooster. Not going to see that this year.

Actually, fringe players may see more regular season opportunities than ever before. I’m guessing some players may sit out the season, and plenty will need to sit out a few weeks here and there if they test positive. There could be some opportunities for guys to take advantage of.

I suspect all hell breaks loose that week and Covid will have nothing to do with it.

I think very good chance NFL will increase a roster size for a normal active 53 to maybe 60 plus a practice squad.

Seriously, what if Covid hits 5-6 of your players and they can't play for 2 weeks?

Should be very interesting to say the least and very hard to teams to evaluate talent.

Scouts, GM's, coaches jobs all just became a lot harder.

Good point. They will have to expand the roster as Troy55 pointed out.

I’m just hoping it’s a kick and not a punt.

I would like to say that i wanted to see guys like Trajan Bandy who had good stats being a Undrafted free agent, i wanted to see what more can afford Kerryth Whyte as a Running Back because i remember he had 15 broken tackles since week 13, most in the team and also as a kick returner, he will have a really difficult competition with Conner, Samuels and McFarland. Also i want to see Deon Cain, he has speed and height, he made interesting plays vs Bengals and from 5 passes to him, he caught 4 and the another pass was a interference by the defense so he made a good impact and i don´t want that he will be cut because i know that 4 receivers have the job but he is in competition with Ryan Switzer who said that he is going to have one of his best seasons (i don´t think so but i hope) Saeed Blacknell and Amara Darboh. They are others receivers who wants a steeler job.

This sucks, I like watching the young guys play in preseason, you would like the rookies to get some game action before the regular season starts.

What a surprise. There may be no season. The players union wants guarantees of players full pay for the season even if it is shortened to start or if cancelled midway. Could be a holdout.

I've said from the beginning I don't think there will be a season and at this point I don't really care.

Cancel the season & have the players go get real jobs. They are replaceable after all.

I thought protesting was the other job. Quite a few of them have experience alongside their entertainment gig.

Maybe we should have a contest/poll to see who can guess when the NFL season starts.

I would not be surprised if it turns out this way: A delayed start, then after a week or two cancelled. IMO, best case is delayed start and they somehow manage to finish it.

Put me down for Aug. 2021. They may attempt it but once the Covid tests all start coming back positive and the media shuts everything down there is no way they are having full contact football this season.

I honestly don’t care if they play at all. I’m over all of it. Too many other things to do on Sundays than to get preached to by over paid social justice warriors.

While this is the truth of it I will always watch Steeler football.....unless this idiotic social justice crap gets woven too deeply into the Steelers.

A nine week season after the election where everyone plays their division home and away plus a home and away game against a common local opponent (to limit air travel). Regular season be over in the second week of January.
