We could be doing worse, like having Hairball.

I've played a ton of golf! Drank a ton of beer! Remodeled the man-cave! Found the best spot on the sectional for napping!

Reality is going to suck if it ever comes back!

You know, it's funny. I've been a rather hard critic for Tomlin over the years.

If you told me last summer that they would go 8-8, and he would GAIN points in my eyes, I would have called you crazy. But he did. Salvaging 8-8 out of that season considering everything against us was pretty remarkable. The defense took huge strides in improvement. And should we remain healthy, and actually have a season, I like our chances.

That doesn't mean I lengthened his leash. ;)

I think of Tomlin just like some others do. He’s a great coach when it comes to making things out of nothing and for salvaging a season, but he could do better given some of the high talent he’s had some years. Still, he took us twice to the big game and won us one, more than most coaches.

Have you been paying attention the last 50 years? It's not in the wheelhouse with SB winners.

I know some feel that way but my position is that if he gets a pass when bad things happen, he shouldn't get praise when good things happen.

He is HMFWAIC and while I don't attribute the improvement on D to him (because he didn't do anything to generate it), I do attribute the late season losses and the ineffective offense ad-nauseum to him (because he didn't do anything to prevent it).

Can we all see the common denominator......he doesn't do anything:cool:

Is that a rhetorical question? Either way, I'm not answering it!

At 8-5, even at 8-6 after a tough loss to the Bills, he had definitely gained points in my eyes. Then came the laying-of-the-egg vs. the Jets in an absolute must win game. It was like the 2018 slide vs. the the lesser AFC West opponents all over again. I am not a FMTI guy, but I'm edging closer to my breaking point.

Ray, brother, I'm raising a beer to you. Keep punching. Best advice anyone could give. A parent should never bury their child. I can't imagine what that would do to a man. Being a father of two girls, your loss really hits me where I live.

    Keep punching.

I'm in. Are we wearing name tags or making up t-shirts with our forum names/profiles on them? I mean, I'm old and set in my ways. I'm going to need to see who you all are by "likeness." That way I know what beer belongs to @Formerscribe. :hehehe:

Not to be too positive... but I'm doing good. I've been working the whole time through the pandemic and even got a nice bonus for working throughout the lockdown in my state.

I miss debating with you pollyannas.

I think of him as a "game manager". It's those gut feelings that I worry about.

I like it! We can coin the phrase "The Tomlin Slide"! It simply means the latest in a string of slides toward mediocre from the brink of greatness.

If you think about it, the people who hang their hat on political correctness are dumber than a sack of hammers! When was the last time politics ever did anything correct?

The US constitution seems like a good thing?

Edit: You did say when was the last time. And that was something like 463 years ago.

I can name a few right off the top of my head. There was that one time when...well, that didn't work out well. But politics definitely rocked it with the...oh yeah, that backfired. Okay, there's absolutely no denying that without politics, we wouldn't have had...wait, that was private sector.

It has given us some great memes! Boom!! I win!!
