So how many of us missed the entire 1st quarter due to CBS switching from one OT game to the next?

My wife said to me same as last year.

I would have been extra mad if I had Direct TV pay per view and still couldn't watch it since it was shown locally.

Read the game thread. Probably a dozen of us venting. My program guide showed I would get the game (I didn't). I booked it down to a local sports bar and ALL of their tv's were Chiefs/Saints or Jets/Dolphins and there was nothing they could do.

This is a situation that needs fixed. Too many people have the NFL package OR the NFL Red Zone for them to ignore their SCHEDULE.

it was on Sunday ticket. it was weird. i was watching the game and at the end of the 1st quarter i realized there hadnt been any commercials. than the game was blacked out. i switched over to regular tv and there it was. i think the announcers on Sunday ticket were different than the ones on regular tv.

Yes, I was pissed to. I missed the whole 1st quarter and both TD's. I was venting like hell. My wife was mad too. Yes is needs to be fixed. I was all set and ready to go once the Redskins lost before 4:30, only to have to watch three overtime games. If I had know that the Steelers would lose like they did, I wouldn't have cared.

I watched it on Sunday ticket and didn't have any issues at all. Commercials were VERY few and far between. Also Eagle and Fouts were the commentators.

So if the Steelers game went to OT and they switched to the late game before it was over, would it have been ok?

Yes, I missed it to. I have the Sunday ticket and it was blacked out because of the game being shown locally. I got the ticket free this year with direct tv but I was still upset. Even with the ticket I could not watch the beginning of the game. I hate the late games for this reason!

The difference: the early games most of us were watching ended and they switched us to the finish of the Jets/Dolphins OT game. Then, when that ended, they switched us to the Chiefs/Saints OT game. We had to watch the end of two games we weren't even watching, well into OT, prior to being allowed to watch the game all of our local providers informed us we would be able to watch.

If anybody watched it on Directv and had no problem viewing it, chances are you reside in the Pittsburgh or NorCal markets.

I watched it on Sunday Ticket and I live in the boondocks of East TN. I had no problems at all. The games we had locally were the Jags/Titans and Chiefs/Saints.

That's odd. I'm in Cleveland on business. Why would I get stuck with all of those OT games being only two hours from the Burgh while Tennessee gets the Steelers/Radiers in its entirety.

My only guess would be that my game ended much earlier so they cut to the other games in their entirety. Because your game lasted so long (also an OT game), they probably cut immediately to the Steelers game at its conclusion.

Actually (I think I figured it out), the Lions/Titans game was on Fox. Because it was on Fox (and it was a Titans game), you don't get any other game in your local market because I think they only show the Titans on Fox and you didn't get ANY cbs game. Therefore, when the Steelers game started, CBS picked that up from its inception at your market.

Oh I'm sorry. I was watching it on Sunday Ticket. I had put that in an earlier post but maybe you didn't see it. I was saying that I didn't have an issue with my Sunday Ticket. Some were saying they DID have an issue with theirs.

Missed it as well. Have Sunday Ticket. Got it free last year when I signed up for Direct TV and switched from cable. This year I had to pay for it. I ended up just getting the games package for 199.00 and not the Sunday ticket MAX for 299.00 which is all the games and Red Zone channel and mobile access. I have missed the Red Zone channel this year but told myself I really don't need it if all I want is to be able to watch the Steeler.

I live in eastern panhandle of WV so they are actually on local TV out of DC more than you think as they were the past two weeks. Yesterday I did miss the first quarter as well because Redskins were on CBS channel of course and that game went over. I figured no problem, I will just switch the sunday ticket channel to watch the Steelers figuring when Redskin game was over they would then black me out on that channel and I would go back to the local DC CBS channel. No poblem. Well it was as we all know because it was blacked out on there as well already. Then when Redskin finally ended CBS still shows the end of the KC/NO game and MIA/NYJ game. So needless to say I was pissed. Especially since this year I have paid for something out of pocket and it is not working unlike last year when I had it for free and never had a problem. I ended up having to watch it on the MIX channel where they have like 8 boxes. Was the only way I could tell what was going on until they finally went to it on the local CBS feed.

So today I call them, I say I understand that you are going to show Redskin game to completion and it is not CBS's fault that the replacement refs are making the games last forever. I guess I can also understand them wanting to show the end of two other exciting games. But then why is the Ticket channel blacked out? This is not waht I paid for. I paid so when the Steelers are not on in my area I can watch the WHOLE GAME. Of course the lady I get has no clue/reads from a script/I think is in training because you hear an eco. She starts reading about blakouts and stuff and u can tell she has no clue what I am talking about. I then say. OK, if this is going to happen then give me the Red Zone channel for free. She says no can't do that, would need to purchase the upgrade and pay the extra 100.00. I say I really dont want to but you need to give it to me for free since you are going to do this in these situations and still black out the Ticket channel. I ask for a supervisor, she offers me free movie channel for 6 months, I say no I don't want that as you already gave me free Showtime until the end of the year because of your dispute over the Summer when all those channels were lost for almost a month. I say don't you see that on my account so no I don't need free movie channels. I want free Red Zone. She puts me on hold and coomes back and says if I buy te upgrade to Ticket MAX for the extra 100.00 she will then give me a 10.00 credit on each bill for 12 months. So I say are you offering me the upgrade to MaX for the 100.00 difference but then going to give me a 120.00 credit over 12 months? She said yes. I say go for it.

So at least there is that. I got free Redzone

That woman is VERY good at her job! I think she is meant to be confusing and if that is the case... it WORKED. My brain would look like bacon if you could see it right now.

Yeah, you didn't have a problem getting the game because the area you live in, Tennessee, had a FOX game on (which means they'll only show your local team, the Titans, and no opposing network broadcast at that time). Therefore, they can't show a CBS game at the same time in your market so you didn't have to worry about the morning CBS game(s) running long. Your CBS broadcast day didn't begin until your regularly scheduled afternoon game (Pittsburgh/Oakland) began.
