Honestly I think it’s all BS. It seems to me that JH is still rightfully pissed at receiving a fine for playing football. To me he seems to be saying that his HC was fine with the hits, as he should be. They weren’t even flagged and weren’t illegal but Goodall and Harrison’s beef is well known. I think maybe JH sayin he wouldn’t piss on Goodell if he was on fire....might have something to do with it. He was targeted after that between the fines and the “random” drug tests. There was a bullseye.....

I’m sure MT wasn’t taking money out of his pocket to pay players fines but honestly I wouldn’t be mad if the team did....on the down low of course. The Steelers were in Goodells crosshairs ever since they were the only team not to vote for (approve) of Goodell’s dictatorship.....

That’s a perfectly reasonable take. Bud wasn’t setting the world on fire either but I understand giving the reps to a first rd pick over a guy pushing 40 and gone after the season. How do we know Bud still has the same season he did last year if they had cut into his development?

JH body of work with NE tells me there would have been little difference between the two. Why not give the guy you just drafted the chance to develop.

I never thought for a second that it was bounty payment. I thought it was pretty clear that Tomlin was paying his fine, which I have no problem with, those fines were bs and it was clear Goodell was targeting JH and the Steelers because they were one of the most physical defenses in the league.

JH shouldn’t be blabbing it all over social media though.

Harrison came out today and said Tomlin never paid him for any hits, legal or otherwise. So, yeah, he’s still talking about Tomlin

I think Tomlin is breaking some sorta rule by sending his son to Maryland to play football so he can scout out their players and get the inside scoop on them. He is insidious! Green font as always lol

Look somebody gets it. But if the posters on here ran the show they'd let AB, Bell, and JH walk around Heinz like the own it.

Well if they bought a ticket or were the guest of a luxury box owner I'm not sure there is anything that can be done to stop them.

Same coach who was in the draft room when they passed on an all pro LB to draft a inept safety project...

Who's going to bring them when the owner of the team says he's a no go at functions?

Isn't it Tomlin who should no longer be invited to official Steelers functions, since he gave JH the envelope?

Ummm there is this guy on the team, he has been there for like 13 years or something. He has a lot of pull....his name was something like slim Ken or duck Kim... I can't remember his name but he currently looks like Grizzly Adam's and likes the number 7

Wow "them", hmmmmmm wonder what you mean by that? If you are including me into one of "them" then I just want to say at no point did I even mention JH played at a high level. My whole point in my responses was how much hate the guy has and how easy it is for "one of you" to forget all the good things he has done as a Steeler. The hate JH has received here even years later is incredible.....let it go already.

Of course it is but he was ARGUABLY the best player on that team that particular season. He was dpoy and made one of the biggest plays in SB history. Stop acting like he was just another player.

That was my read as well. In fact, when I read Payton’s response I was seriously confused about his point.

The article steelideal linked to then says MT paying towards JH’s fine was “even worse” because he was rewarding illegal hits. Is it bollocks. The fine was perceived as not fitting the crime.

This isn’t really about JH or MT, it’s about people weighing in on how they think the Steelers are favoured by the league, cheats who pretend to have the moral high ground etc etc

And we're supposed to believe Harrison , if there was even an envelope given. Why would Tomlin pay Harrison's fine? It's not like Harrison was playing for the minimum.

Why do I think the reaction here to this story would be 1000% different, if the Coach giving JH the envelope was Bill Bellichek instead of Mike Tomlin? One case : no big deal. The other: a Bountygate outrage.

Though personally, I think Harrison is lying through his teeth, both in the charge and in his denial. I though he was a dirty player and a horses ass when he was here. He's done nothing to change my mind since he left. Though he appears to have changed the minds of others.
