We are all PO'd at this loss and having the same issues every week. However, it is only week 3. Even though we are 1-2 there is a real good chance the Ravens lose to the Patriots tonight and we haven't played any divisional games. There is plenty of room for improvement this season, lets just hope we get our stuff together during the BYE week.

So being optimistic our season isn't over yet.

    GO STEELERS

Yeah but our two losses are against teams who are 2-4.

The issue is they have put themselves in a bad situation. They did the same thing last year. Screwing up tiebreakers this early in the year bites you in the butt come playoff time. You can't give these losses up to AFC teams this early. Even if Baltimore loses tonight, they still sit in front due to AFC wins/loses. The same crap last year...can't give games up you are winning/should win.

I think the thing that we get hung up on, to our detriment, is what happened before. We could take this year and say "well it's only week 3 and in 05 we were 11-5 with a 6th seed berth and we won the Super Bowl" or "well in 08 we had a horrible offensive line and we went on to win the Super Bowl". I just think we have such a love for history that we allow it to fog up the here and now. As Steelers fans we always keep going back to the yesteryear. Whenever people give me jazz about us I just say "SIX SUPER BOWLS!!! DEAL WITH IT!!!" But the fact is that was then and this is now. What happened 7 years ago or 4 years ago or 30 years ago when it's all said and done doesn't matter. History really puts nothing in context if you really think about it. I think it's just a coping mechanism. Maybe there are lessons to be learned but as far as what goes on on the field from game to game what happened last year doesn't matter. We have to move on and realize that if we want more great memories to relive we are gonna have to get the personnel to make that happen.

Both losses against AFC opponents, not good come
playoff time/ tiebreakers. We need to right this ship. This was a game
we should have had.Shame on the Steelers, very poor performance
    in California again.

I agree it is only week 3 but our defense looks awful right now. Hopefully we have a great two weeks of practice and come out and demolish the Eagles in two weeks and the defense looks like its former self. The good news is the offense looks very good. Just need to be a bit better with ball security. My hope is that the coaching staff come up with some new stuff for the Eagles etc.

If not then I guess we could be looking at a 8-8 year. The bye week couldn't come at a better time, we are so banged up.

I know it is cliche-ish to say it, but to "right the ship", the Steelers just have to win the next game. That's it. People are talking about being 4-5 after 9 games? 8-8 at the end? WTF? The only thing that is CERTAIN is that we will either be 1-3 or 2-2 after our next game. That's it. THEN - let's talk about what we'll be after THAT - then - REPEAT week after week after that and THEN we'll see how things stack up against the league.

We KNOW that this team did not get it done in Denver and Oakland. We saw those games. We also know that we think they lost to two INFERIOR teams. That sucks - but it happened. There's nothing wrong with predicting - but the reality is that the only sane way to look at things is one week at a time. Who expected Arizona to be 3-0 at this point? Who expected the 49ers to LOSE yesterday? This is a crazy league and crazy things happen. One week at a time, brothers and sisters - one week at a time.

Exactly. There's a reason for the term, "Any given Sunday"

I say the team ends up 12-4 or 11-5.

Let's at least wait until Week Nine (half of games played) to see what the outlook is. The Steelers can very well win every game up to that point and have a 6-2 record.
