I see the offense coming around. I love what we r doing on offense. we score 31 on anyone we should win. the problem is the defense. I have accepted the fact that maybe they are old. the secondary is horrible and i know troy isnt in there but he is not playing like the troy of 5 yrs ago. ike sucks, lewis is horrible, i dont even want to talk about mundy right now, and clark is long in the tooth as well even though he is the best player in the secondary. I am very dissapointed in this lose and i blame it on the defense. you will have turnovers and you will have calls against you but this team cannot get off the field when it counts. period.

Don't want to rain on the parade and I think the offense looked good today, but let's put it in perspective. The 31 points was scored against a Raider's defense that has been decimated with injury and is essentially a totally different defense than the one they put on the field last year.

It's time to change to a 4-3 defense...with the pass happy NFL, we need to get pressure on the QB without bringing the house

Run the 4-3 against the Eagles, Vick won't know what hit him!

YES! Lets do it now. What we're doing isn't working anyway, what's the worst that can happen? Besides, Hood is a very good 4-3 pass rusher, but he's useless in a 3-4. Lets line up in a 4-3 and see what happens.

Sometimes I've thought why not do what the Pats sometimes do...use both the 3-4 and 4-3...and use them depending on what the O is doing and such. I'd have no problem with this. As they have the players to do both formations.

Change to a different defensive scheme middle of the season ? Brilliant. We will still have the same players on the field.

Last season--well, all seasons, actually--Bruce's offense struggled to get to 20 against anyone.

I say we put Redman at CB.....Just playing...On the 4 real need try every CB on the roster and every DB in practice this week ,,,,don't look for mistakes, but look for plays....The guys who make the most plays should be the ones playing on game day....

Its true...the switch mid game...because its part of a package they practice.....thats why I just sit and smile on every post to switch to the 4-3....or I think they will switch to a 4-3.....If they had any interest in changing I guarantee you they would at least have a sub package they would run a few times a game....they don't

Apparently Timmons is built for the 4-3 as well. It's not like it would matter to Troy. He's gonna be all over the field anyway.

Playing a 4-3 scheme could work, but it takes some others off the field.

Up front for the D-line we would most likely need to have Woodley, Hood, McLendon, Heyward.
Lbs, would be Timmons, JH and not sure who would be the next best fit for that scheme. They would most likey use Foote. Sly might fit weel if healthy.

Keisel doesn't really fit in a 4-3 and neither does Hampton.

I don't thing woodley will be a good outside lb in a 4-3 defense. Also, Timmons will not be a good middle lb in 4-3. We need to a complete personnel change to go 4-3 full time.

Its such a wonder to me that Mike Tomlin was a great secondary coach. Its what started him on his course to becoming a head coach. I would think that our secondary because of this would be a strength but its our weakest link and now that we don't get any pressure on the QB the secondary will get exposed every week.

We don't have the personnel at LB to play the 4-3 as we have no big run-stopper to put on the field. Let's see what the coaches change in the off week, but we MUST get this D fixed. We had zero...count that ZERO stops in the 2nd half yesterday. I personally would have no problems with a move to the 4-3, but if we are going to do it....THIS is the offseason to make the choice. You can't wait any longer. We are going to need to take some LBs in this draft....the RIGHT LBs are important.

The thing with the secondary is many times they had good coverage yesterday but this defense is based on pressure on the QB. That has been non-existant so far this year. The CB's can only cover for so long. There were times when Palmer didn't have guys open or made some really good throws right in front of our CB. You have to give a bit of credit to Oakland. That being said I think the problem is more with the front 7 instead of the back 4.

What happened to Blitzburgh and no one knowing who was coming and who is in coverage? Until we do something new and change it up the NFL has the blue print to beat us.
