What odds he ends up in a Pats uniform?

Can't believe they didn't try and trade him to get something, anything. Pathetic organization. Glad I'm not a Bungle fan.

Stories I've read said they did try to trade and no suitable takers.

No team was going to trade for Dalton and his 17 million dollar salary.

They really are going all in with Burrow it seems! I would have rather have him sit for a bit to get acclimated to the NFL Game. See how fast it is compared to the collegiate level.

That said though, I assume that Zac Taylor will have a plan in place for him. Given the fact that Jonah Williams will return from injury, I assume that the Bengals will be banking on that for Burrow to have as smooth of a First NFL Season as possible. However, almost nothing pans out the way we want it to.

Going to be a rough year for the young man. I feel for him. This is not accounting for the teams he will face in the NFC East either.

They're the Bungles for a reason. Going to ruin the Burrows kid.

Who is the back up in Cincy? You have to adequate backups in case
Burrows would happen to get hurt. If they can get 5 wins out of this team
they will be lucky. I guess playoffs is in 5 year plan? Poor fans have to put up with Mike Brown.
It is like that with our Pirates.

It's called money. Burrows contract is going to be expensive and there's no way they would have the cap room if they kept Dalton. And other teams didn't want that contract. So while I'm not a Bengals fan by any means I wouldn't say this is the dumbest move they made.

Yeah we have no idea what that's like to have inadequate backup QBs. :lolol:

They have Burrows on a rookie contract for 5 years, though I suspect they will rework that after 3 years if he turns out to be the next big thing.

I think they let go of Dalton because:

    A) They know what they have in him, which is not enough to get them to the SB

    B) This takes any pressure off Burrows from having to look over his shoulder. They are all in on him.

I also suspect that Dalton wanted out and they are giving him the opportunity to find another team to start on.
