Think the Bungles give him $17mil if they draft their savior? I could see Belicheat give up some draft picks to have him for a year.

Do you have any idea of how hard it is to find a Glemm Jersey? I prefer to be honest and buy authentic, but dang, I broke down and bought a Chinese Knock off.

I doubt he wants to come to Pittsburgh to be a backup, the Steelers are committed to Rudolph as their backup, besides they aren't going to pay that type of money to sign a guy like Dalton.

IDK about that. If they select Burrow he may not be starter ready immediately, they’ll need a bridge QB to help Burrow in year one and Andy Dalton is perfect for that role. If it was me I’d be keeping him for the season until I know Burrow is ready to go. Look at how the chiefs eased Mahomes in to the league by sitting him behind Smith for a while as an example.

Releasing him means they get no compensatory pick as well. Presumably he would qualify for a third round comp pick. Releasing him makes no sense to me unless they are in cap trouble, then again, it is the Bengals I suppose so sense may not come in to it.

Remember, the NFL has a salary floor. They may need Dalton to keep them above it. (To be fair, I haven't really kept track of their offseason.)

Even if he is cut, I just can't see him signing for what the Steelers can afford. If the Patriots wanted him, that would be a more attractive option for Dalton because they have more cap room and he would have a chance to start there this season.

Didn't Ben have an int problem a couple of seasons? And then, a sack problem?

Ben threw 16 ints in 2018, and led the league in that category, Winston threw 30 ints and 6 pick sixes in 2019 .

Yes, and the Steelers don't have much cap space it would take to sign Winston

Ok ... so we're saying that we can't afford him vs his ability to backup Ben?

That's because the balls in Tampa aren't inflated properly. That's why they're bringing Tom in. He'll put the right amount of air in them!!

Roethlisberger has definitely thrown more interceptions than many other elite quarterbacks, but he has thrown over 16 only once. That was 2006, when he wasn't even close to being right physically for most of the season. The combination of the Super Bowl hangover, the motorcycle accident and the appendectomy right before the start of the season led to him playing the worst football of his career. He threw 23 interceptions that year.

Winston was a turnover machine last year. In addition to 30 interceptions, he fumbled 12 times. I would still take him as Roethlisberger's backup, but I'm guessing he will cost more than the Steelers would want to pay.

Rudolph needs some more 1st string experience to gel. Maybe they take Ben out when up by 20. Save him for the post season & give some reps to the reindeer.

Rudolph can get his first team reps in preseason, I prefer to not watch him play in the regular season .

With the age of Ben and every sack now he gets up slower and slower, it wouldn't be a bad idea to get him out of games during garbage time to keep him away from cheap hits by overzealous young players.

Ben has had a fumble problem too over his career. He was sacked and hit a lot when BA was the OC. All of BAs qbs take a beating. I'm no Winston fan though. He was like this at FSU. no thanks. I'm also not judging rudolph after just last year.
