The fact that he won't even be able to begin throwing tennis balls until the 21st is a little troubling. Keeping my fingers crossed for no setbacks.

Even that’s a if. They won’t know until then. It could be yes or no....

Throwing tennis balls? Proof our coaches are clueless about the game - don’t even know what ball to use.

I assume it means the NFL is switching to tennis balls this coming season.

Wishing him well in his recovery. 2020 is pretty bleak looking without him

Wait, I thought that the bright side was that it wasn't bad enough to have surgery?

Ok. Was it Tommy John? I don't know, I thought there was a positive aspect to it.

They’re saying it wasn’t TJ which would of had a 12+ month recovery. The closest I can get to a legitimate report is that he had 3 ligaments repaired. I originally heard he had to have a ligament or two moved I’m assuming because they were causing some sort of friction and pain. Don’t quote me on any of this I’m not a doctor but have been trying to find out as much as I could the whole time. So I guess you can say no TJ is good news in terms of length of recovery but I’m not sure if it was much less serious. Any surgery is serious...

Well if his arm isn't all the way back at least he'll still be able to throw to Switzer, since his routes are only 2.5 yards :lolol:

Probably already re-injured his elbow shoveling food into his mouth.
I guess the elbow surgery is also not allowing him to step on a treadmill.

Sorry to be such a downer, but I have no faith whatsoever that he will be ready at all for the start of the season. I expect him to come to camp 50 lbs overweight. Ben sucks at the beginning of the season every year. Coming off an injury and out of shape won't do him any favors either.

3 ligaments repaired would point to Ben probably having partial tears before the tear that put him out for the season. Meaning he was playing hurt.

I had an acl complete tear back in my 20s & they moved some of my ligaments to use to repair the joint. This was back in the 1990s & I'm sure the medical profession has improved upon their procedures since then. It took me about 9-12 months to get to about 90% of what I use to be before the injury so get ready for another Ben run at the SB. Hoping for the best.

Yep. All we have is tons of speculation. There’s really no information to draw from to come up with a conclusion either way. Everyone heals differently and we won’t have any definitive answers for a while. Even if he gets the ok to start soft tossing a tennis ball, that’s a long way away from being able to throw a football with the torque that is required to do so.

It's Fuchtner's new game plan. He is also going to issue our receivers those Lacrosse baskets and put up a net to keep the defense away from his offense.

Art Rooney II: Steelers may sign a WR or RB, we’re good with the QBs we have

Posted by Michael David Smith on February 5, 2020

Steelers President Art Rooney II says his team could use some offensive playmakers but won’t go shopping for a quarterback this offseason.

Rooney said today that Ben Roethlisberger is making progress in recovery from last year’s season-ending elbow injury, and the Steelers feel good about the backup quarterbacks they have on the roster.

Throwing tennis balls? Maybe he's trying out as a tennis ball boy, it'll be his plan B if he cant make it back.

I'm surprised no one blamed the new QB Coach, Mr. Canada.
