That's the result of the intensity and passion he displayed when playing against the ratbirds.
Even though, I'm pretty sure he enojoys that role and is having a great time.

    This was a nice story.

I'm sure Hines knows that all of that "hate" is really grudging respect.

I ran into a guy in a Pats jersey in the middle of the freaking woods a couple weeks ago (hiking in Hocking Hills,Ohio) and we got to talking and I told him I hated the Pats. He was a nice guy and sheepishly threw out a, "why does everybody hate the pats?" I said, "Take it as a compliment. Everyone hates my team too. But understand this, nobody hates the bad teams."

Hines has earned that hatred by being damn good and having his team OWN their team (and city for that matter). Derek Jeter is the same way but Derek is quiet and says all the right things. Those two guys are examples of guys that evoke the following from fans: "I friggin' hate that guy! Man, I wish he was on our team!"

    For sure.

They hate Hines the same way Steelers fans hate Ray Lewis and Terell Suggs.

    Its a healthy 'hate.'

I was just getting ready to post this. LOL! Still plenty of hate from Raven nation. We are going to miss Ward when the Steelers and Ravens battle going forward. He was not the least bit intimidated by Lewis, Suggs or Reed. His leadership will be sorely missed in those games. I only regret that Ward didn't get the opportunity to lay Lewis out the way he did Reed a time or two. Would have loved to have seen that!

My wife does not like going to night games. When the schedule came out, I told her there was a Sunday night game on November 18. Without hesitation she told me to sell the tickets or get someone else to go. It told her it was the Ravens. Again, without hesitation, she said never mind, I'm going.

Hines should have told them all that they should be careful what they say because he hired Ray Lewis' posse for his personal security.
