This dude would look great in black and gold. He should absolutely be our first round pick next year.

On its face I agree with that, but the reality is if you look at our drafts, it wouldn't be the first time someone fell to us. Heath Miller, Ben, and DeCastro.

    Re: tao

drafting te'o would be awesome but looks unlikely. i know not everyone is hyped on timmons but unless they trade him he will be the starter. likewise unless they plan on moving spence to troy's spot it looks like ILB can't have a first round draft pick spent on a back up role.

Weird. I was going to come on here and post this. I went to the game yesterday in South Bend and he was all over the place. Picked off two passes, forced another interception, and was all over the field. Kind of a Seau/Polamalu combination. Covers the entire field, has a nose for the ball, a playmaker on defense. I was definitely impressed. No way he falls to #32 though ; )

We just played a stinker of a game against one of the worst teams in the league (The Dolphins creamed these guys last week). I am not so sure we are going to be drafting in the 20s this year. Probably between 10 to 15

I would rather have Jarvis Jones of Georgia a pass rusher because Harrison is just about washed up.

    Ooooh ok...thanks for the clarification.

Anyways...I watched a tiny bit of that game last night and he looked solid...but not sure they'd go that route...they got Spence in the 3rd and are very high on him. So who knows. But I DO think unless some super stud falls to them (ala DeCastro) that it will be D picks early next draft...DB and maybe even OLB.

after today we could draft him without trading up, cut ties with lebeau and switch to a 4-3 with te'o in the middle and timmons at sam and spence at will where they can blitz and generate pressure. ta'mu was a 1 tech and ziggy a 3 in college while heyward was a 4-3 end. they would all be able to be more productive rushers and we could probably get woodley to move back to end and be fine.

At this rate we will be picking low enough to get him.

My bad i thought i read when he was drafted they ran a 3-4. I was watching the ND vs Stanford game and at the end i noticed a real mean streak in him. I think we need to do what we need to do to get this kid.he would free timmons up to go insane and free roam kinda. They were letting him do that before farrior went down hill quick and he was playing great and him roaming more means less for troy. I honestly think if he is there or they can jump up a few spots to grab him they will. Ilb has to be the number one priority this year. If we are staying a 3-4 team we have to have four top flight linebackers.

drafting te'o still means throwing spence out unless they use him to replace troy or switch to the 4-3. incidentally troy was a linebacker at usc. so was carnell lake for that matter.

We have no idea if Spence will pan out, and he could always be a pass cover specialist... Can never had too much talent.

However, with all our needs a 1st round ILB might be a luxury pick that we can't afford with our holes at OLB and CB.

Spence was a project LB at best before the injury....by no means a given to turn into anything....and that was PRE INJURY

and Troy was no a LB at USC...unless you count his freshman year where he was a backup LB on the depth chart...but still a Safety 99% of the time.

Spence is a better SLY at this point...nothing more...and thats if he even plays football ever again..(which I hear he will...but who knows at this point)

i don't think we will be in the teo range pick , but i think we need more an ilb than olb , woodley and harrison are signed for next season we need a better backup to pair with worilds or carter , at ilb foote is free agent spence is a jolly back up and now has a big injurie problem . a stud cb should be the biggest need but if teo is available you pick him , a lot depends what we do in free agency because i think this year we should bring someone
