    Here's my wishlist for Sunday's game @OAK:
    -Take an early lead, so we can rest some starters (Ben, Wallace and some Oline, LBs) since the middle of the 3rd.
    -Can we please have a couple int's?
    -Pressure Palmer. He, for sure, still has nightmares of the black & gold
    -Run through them. Early and often. Then, the playaction would be set
    -and that's when Redman /Dwyer will shine: its probably your last call, so make the most of it (Mendenhall should be back w5)
    -Same goes for Mundy (Polamalu should be back w5) and Carter / Worilds (assuming Harrison is back for w5 too)
    -Don't lose the football. No int's, no fumbles
    -It's a wishlist, so... can we protect our QB? Let's say no sacks... but I would be happy if it's only 1.
    -Some Rainey in action would be nice, a couple screens will work with McClain out (a big return would be nice too!)
    -No injuries...
    -...and no stupid penalties (I know it's the raiders we're talking about, but let's just stay cool)
    -and a W, of course!

    What's yours?

    mine is the same as it was last week.. and every week .. JUST WIN.. and NO INJURIES.. thats it ... as far as rest ben... and the starters.. thats not how tomlin does it .. we could be up 30-0 to start the 4th Qt and i guarantee you.. ben and the starters play at least the first series.. i have yelled at the TV dozenz of times.. GET HIM OUTTA THERE.. bring in batch or lefty or anyone ... never happens.. or we can be down 28 with 3 minutes to go .. and out goes ben.. IMHO we never pull the starters soon enough in a huge blowout ..

    I'd like to see some more no-huddle mixed in throughout the game. Not just a 2 minute drill type thing, but randomly throughout the game. Ben has proven to be effective when running it and with the talent we have at WR, plus Heath and some of the backs, we can really create some mismatches out there and not allowing the D to substitute is a huge advantage of the no huddle.

    I also won't complain with the 10+ play, 7:00+ scoring drives we've been having as long as we score TD's. But would love me some no huddle action!!

    You dont rest starters in game 3 of the regular season for crying out loud, hell their just now getting into football shape, if they are wearing panties this damn early forget about getting to the playoffs, they have a bye week next week to rest all they want, but if they are tired after 3 games they are in pretty bad shape and by game 8 they will all be on IR.....They all need all the real time game Reps they can get, this Oline needs to be on the field to get all the experience they can get for that 13 game grind after the bye week Ben and the offense will only get better being on the field, not standing on the sideline, show me a team thats worrying about injuries instead of playing their starters an entire game, and i'll show you a looooozer....

    You've pretty much covered it.

    I think the Steelers will win. But I do NOT want to see them have to eek out a win. I'd rather see the mattered settled by the middle of the third quarter.

    I agree that I wouldn't be too keen to see starters rested - might not put it in quite the way Diamond does, it's more for me that I don't think we're ever quite beyond 'comeback' level, especially against teams that we *should* annihilate but never quite get to.

    The other stuff, WWW, I pretty much agree with. In particular, though, this game I'd like to see Will Johnson used more. Not every drive, I just think he's turning into the pleasant surprise of the season and wnat to see that develop.

    I agree you usually don't rest starters the first 8 or 10 weeks of a season.
    But this is not a normal season, we are thinner than usual -or has it become usual last couple years?- at LB & Oline.
    Let's say its not giving some rest to tired players, it's giving them rest to keep them away from injuries!

    There are some cases where it's good to rest a starter and get the backup some reps, no matter what the time of year. Woodley, Ben, Heath, Brown, Ike... All guys that don't need to be playing 4 quarters if we're up by 28. And in some of those cases, reps for their backups would be beneficial.

    My wish list:

    the Steelers have a one play drive that Redmon scores on a 99 yard run and takes 6:30 minutes off the clock;
    a 109 yard kick off return by Toney Clemons off the practice squad;
    The Steelers management implements a Star Trek like deflector shield to deploy around Roethlisberger or, if not, they play Eye of the Tiger through his helmet speakers;
    During the obligatory crowd shot of the freaks in Oakland, the ghost of Myron Cope appears waving a Terrible Towel;
    The Steelers TOP is 60 minutes because I don't like to watch the Steelers defense even though they are consistently one of the best in the league;
    Haley develops a play designed for Roethlisberger to extend the play where a lineman intentionally allows a DL through because good things always happen when Roethlisberger extends the play, then Roethlisberger extends the extend the play play and we get a touchdown to Brown on a long pass;
    Wallace grows wings so I can say that guy can really fly and everyone will laugh;
    I hope my guests will bring beer;
    that when the Steelers get a big lead they bring in the an all star team from from the 70's, 80's or 90's and the all star offense scores a touchdown and teh all star defense forces a three and out;
    the Steelers get a kick off return for a touchdown, a fumble return for a touchdown, an interception return for a touchdown, a passing touchdown, a running touchdown, a punt return for a touchdown, a 64 yard field goal and a safety.
    that history is changed and instead of Neil O'donnell throwing that second interception it is a touchdown pass.

    Lets hope that Ben and the offense goes to work early and often and that the defense gets some three and outs. Also that the defense gets about three int's in this game. They haven't gotten one this year.

    Don't mess around with these guys, I don't want them to be in a dog fight!

    I only want two things.

    1. We win
    2. We have at least 100 yards rushing.

    If we can't get 100 yards rushing against the Raiders, we're in serious trouble.
