That depends on how much JuJu wants, if he wants #1 WR money then no I wouldn't re-sign him.

What is the top?? GM? Ownership?? That’s my issue with this. Everyone takes the shallow view of the organization as if Tomlin makes all of the decisions. The selection and retention of players, discipline, contracts all fall on the entire front office as well as the coach. It takes a fool to believe that many teams would jump all over Tomlin if he became available. Firing him would be as stupid as when Jerry fired Jimmy. If you look at the NFL, success seems to come to teams that have bad years for awhile and are able to acquire high picks. It’s also easy to see the effect that high priced QBs have on teams. The Packers, Seahawks, Steelers and others suffer in a huge way because of cap issues.

Jimmy Johnson was fired from the Cowboys and then went on to win 0 Super Bowls with the Dolphins.

Same thing will happen to Tomlin, IMO... if he should quit or be fired from the Steelers and go to another team.

So in you’re mind he wasn’t doing a good job and deserved to be let go? It is commonly known that the team He had built in the 90’s would have probably won At least two to three more championships. Aikman has acknowledged that he retired because of the break down in coaching after Johnson left. I assure you, Tomlin would be signed within 3 hours of being released.

That numbers game will continue for other teams. The Packers had an unexpected decent year, but the cap dollars on the QB will make keeping or acquiring other players difficult. Seahawks hit will start next year. There is a path, but it narrows significantly when those contracts balloon out and take up more and more of the cap. KC is in a good position, but Mahomes will need to be paid soon as well. It is almost like you need to hit the lottery with a good young QB, and have significant cap space to build around him. Not that things have changed that much, just that players are demanding more guaranteed money and this is the angle the cap specialist on the teams are having to deal with.

    True.... however...

Lest we forget that Jimmy Johnson is now in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. For that matter, Bill Cowher has gotten in; only one Super Bowl to his name and having been to another. Great coaches are kept for long periods because they know what it takes to unify a locker room to win.

Assuming Mike Tomlin has two more winning seasons with the Steelers before his contract expires, Mike Tomlin will have tied Bill Cowher.

Do you honestly think Mike Tomlin will win another super bowl with the Steelers? I don't. I am not bashing him, i just don't see him outcoaching 3 straight games without a defense like 2008's caliber lol.

2020 will be his last shot in my opinion. He now has a defense that can take his team with a healthy Big Ben to the next level. If he cannot, he is as good as gone after his contract expires.

Folks I am not sure what team you guys are watching,
but I like our football team. Yes we have some issues but
with some health improvement and a few tweaks here and there
    we are a playoff team.
