It's a regular season award, Vrabel went 9-7, Shanahan and Harbaugh are more deserving.

I wasn’t questioning why the owner said anything. You were insinuating Harbaugh couldn’t be such a good coach if the owner was contemplating firing him. My point is a good(involved) owner should gauge the direction of his team whenever things start trending down. He assessed the situation and decided Harbaugh is still the right HC for his team.

It doesn't mean the owner should do it publicly, that's my point .

And who picked those QBs to be his starting QB?

Are you suggesting that the Ravens not only have a better coach than the Steelers, they also have a better owner?
That's dark, even for you Darkness.

Not exactly. IDK if you followed the thread to see what got us to this point but no I wasn’t saying that at all. I already have the MT minions on the attack as it is....lol

I skimmed it, I probably missed the point.
I did notice this isn't the only thread you have the Daylight crew running for their Holy Water.

Wait a minute. So many on this board said MT is deserving and yet he went 8-8 blowing the last 3 games (again). Your statement appears to reference only regular season wins and losses so why couldn't Vrabel be just as deserving? I don't personally care who receives this award since its a feel good award like a players being selected to the "Pro Bowl". It didn't see to do the Rats any good.

What's your point? I quoted the reality that Cowher didn't have a franchise QB until Ben. At the end of his career. Tomlin started his WITH a franchise QB. Big difference.

If O'Dunghead didn't throw those picks I believe we could have won.

    Were you a Kordell fan?

You are absolutely correct. I am still in grieving from the end of this season and didn't connect the dots on this beginning next season. My grieving period ends April 1 as this is the appropriate day that I start looking forward to next season as all hopes are tied to a piece of stringy material connected to an elbow.

I did like Kordell, but he was better off in the slash role.

What the heck are you talking about? People were saying Tomlin deserved to win it if they made the playoffs, nobody is saying he should've won after going 8-8 .

You need to read some of the articles on the Steelers web sites. I think you'll see what I mean.

    Hey steelersrule6.

I was a huge Kordell fan. When he was wearing Black and Gold. When he traded that in for the that puke purple I lost all respect for him as I did Rod Woodson.

However, back to Kordell. If the coaching staff did not try to make him a pure pocket passer he would have been much more successful. You do not take away a player's strengths. You tap into them. The coaching staff totally mismanaged that one. Their philosophical approach to coaching Kordell was Kordell's downfall. Management has no one to blame but themselves for that "blunder" IMO.

Tomlin did fine this year. He’s not perfect but when you look at the garbage he was forced to work with on offense, it’s a miracle the team finished 8-8.

Two first-year starting QBs who both looked the part. Awful WRs with no true number 1 (and Moncrief - brutal signing). A group of mediocre (at best) running backs. And an aging OL that can’t run block to save their lives. I’m not sure what else he could have done.

Could the team use a new OC? Likely. But everything on O was built for and around Ben. They needed to keep him happy. The problem is without Ben the offense is completely dysfunctional. That’s not on Tomlin. It’s an organizational decision.
