Basically. Some of it was political too. Him and Jack Attack took their ball and went home.

    Shame. They should come back.

We we’re also driving late with a lead (I think 13-12) when Toussaint fumbled. That could have changed everything if we had kept possession and scored. Bummer.

It all started with Krapyerdick and his kneeling. It escalated
I agree, wish they'd come back!

Ah yes the devil you know. How safe. Too bad you don't realize that devil isn't going to get you number 7. Not by a long shot.

He helped to get them number 6. They almost got number 7 with his help. The odds are against it but there is still a chance it could happen.

Dont you find it curious and frustrating that you are replying to a post that is 4 years old but yet it could have been written today? Nothing has changed in 4 years with coach cliche's squad.

I didn't even realize how old this thread was. Given its from 2016, these posts aren't too out there I guess. Ugh I just want some kind of change even if it's not Tomlin. I at least would like some coordinators who are on a college head coach level. I don't think we have that.

I think they will need an upgrade in player personnel on offense before coaching can make much of a difference. They need an upgrade at back up QB and RB. I think they would be ok at RB if Conner could stay healthy. The Oline and depth on Oline can always be addressed. I think the young group of WR's will be fine. Adding a vet WR seems to be ideal for a young group of WRs. That didn't work out as they planed in 19.

Unfortunately Ben's injury status & salary is a huge disadvantage at this point. How does not having a CBA deal in place affect how teams add FAs & extend or finalize contract extensions? Fans want the best team possible. There is a business aspect to the game that fans don't always consider. The Steelers don't have a lot of room under the capp now. A few good players or key contributes won't be back.

IMO making coaching changes without having the necessary players is only setting up the coaches for failure. I think one plus side to coaching change might be the unknown of how a coach would use the Steelers personnel. The unknown or "hocus pocus" might last for a few games but once teams catch on if X, Y, and Z & players don't play well or are not good enough then fans will be calling for coaches heads again.

There were examples from this season. Mason and Duck played well at times. Once teams caught on to their deficiencies and inability to play well than teams adjusted. I don't think Mason or any of the Steelers QBs were able to execute well enough for a consistent enough period. Both QBs were starters before they were ready. Then they started to turn the ball over. Nothing is worse for a team than turnovers. Turnovers are even worse for an offensive challenged team.

I am optimistic as they come but with the state of the QB position in flux that means the state of the team is in flux. Coaching can only cover so long for poor and inconsistent QB play.

Yeah he sure was a great contributor to this board and one helluva a guy. He will be missed. I guess that is why it's imperative political discussions are kept off the board. So what do you think of Trump lol

While I am disappointed the way the season ended, the fact that Mike Tomlin did more than the "Super Bowl Pick" Cleveland Browns tells quite a bit. For that matter, Tomlin had a similar volatile team last season; a better record doubly so and no less the same. For this 2019 Steelers squad to go 8-8 given all the injuries and upheaval is nothing short of impressive.

That said, I hope this team will be better equipped next season. First things first, sort out the cap mess. Next, find either the BPA Option for Offense or head to defense and draft either Curtis Weaver from Boise State or Darrell Taylor from the University of Tennessee.
