And Cowher wasn't as good of a coach as Noll

Tomlin coached a Super Bowl championship team. I guess he wasted talent that year, too?

I guess im swimming up hill on this one. I dont care how many divisional titles the man had it took too long in my eyes to get the SB.. I wonder if he still would have gotten in had the Steelers taken that guard from Arkansas that Bill wanted over Ben....

Am i glad another Steeler is in? Sure, but i was consistent critic of cowher when he was coaching and I'm not gonna change my mind now...

1-4 in home AFC Championship games..

Thank you for the spell check. My spell check apparently changed it to late. But, you're missing the point. The '06 season, Cowher would not have been a part of. It wasn't in his plans. He wanted to leave after the superbowl, but again, was talked into coming back to defend the title. Kaye (I made sure it was so correctly) was sick for awhile. I thought everyone knew that, but cowher wanted to make up for the loss in '95. If he had won a superbowl before '05 ... he would've been gone.

Me too. He was a really good coach, just not 1st ballot, IMO.

Tomlin is a lock for the hof with his current status.
He keeps bringing his win % down & losing playoff games he will find it hard to get in.

Good job Jimmy. I think he's gonna have to order more grease formula for his hair.

I'm fairly certain news of Kaye Cowher's illness came later. It certainly is possible that Cowher wanted to leave after Super Bowl XL. I'm not missing your point at all. The largest issues with that team were the Super Bowl hangover and Roethlisberger's health.

Congrats Bill that was an awesome surprise, I turned it on just in time. This is well deserved he came in when we were are the end and turned this thing around and brought us back to glory, TY Bill congrats.

    PS

It amazes me how a group of so called diehard fans of a team can not sit here and enjoy this, nope instead right away the very first page Tomlin has to be brought up and later on Noll. Can't we just enjoy this moment as a group of fans of the greatest team in the NFL? SMH

Madden got very wealthy from doing all his marketing, it's not like he did it free bono, this is a coaching HOF award not a get rich marketing ploy.....

No, my point is, cowher wouldn't even be associated with that yr. if he wasn't talked into defending his title. You get me?

I didn't learn until after Johnson got in too, that this is part of a centennial class for 2020, where 15 "extra" guys will get into the HOF. To me that's disrespectful of the members who got in the traditional way, and cheapens the honor. If Tom Flores was on TV now he'd be the one getting in instead of Cowher or Johnson. This is all about a made-for -TV event I'm afraid.
