heath didn't practice yet this week with a rib cartiledge seperation. (ouch) if he don't go this changes everything. we might as well just leave mendy on the bench. we will really have a tough time running without him. pass protection could suffer too. will j could be asked to do more. paulsons big chance or pope has got to step it up. this is a concern with a couple of tackles already dinged up. i know the standard is the standard, but not in this case. i would feel alot better with saunders. what's the chances heath doesn't play?

When is Saunders suspension complete? What did he get suspended for; business or pleasure drugs? The coaches must see something in him because I was surprised they didn't cut the 3rd string TE following the suspension.

suanders will probably be number two when he gets back. suanders playmaking ability is something that will cause a lot of mismatches. Paulson will go to the practice squad. Suanders has the potential to be the next gates hes big but nimble and very good on his feet with very soft hands

the standard is the standard is an absolute joke.. its amazing how many guys we have injured already after 2 games.. something is wrong with the conditioning or something... you look at whos hurt from the raiders.. couple guys... our injury list reads like a whos who of steelers FB.. we are fortunate ot be playing the raiders..

te raiders lost their top 3 corners their starting rt and just got mcclain back. Rib cartilidge has nothing to do with conditioning and everything im reading heath will play since it a pain thing and not much extra damage can be done. Ben played through and heath is just as tough only missing 4 games his whole career

His suspension is complete after week 4. He was suspended for using Adderall without a prescription. As far as that being business or pleasure...I'm not really sure. It's commonly prescribed to people diagnosed with ADD and ADHD. Some people take it for recreational purposes and some people take it for added workout gains (the reason I speculate he was using it).

Isn't that what the browns CB Joe Haden was popped for too? Seems to be a popular drug these days.

According to Jerry Dulac, he returned to practice and is expected to play Sunday.

According to that article Dwyer will play as well. He says the turf toe injury wasn't "that bad" but don't you think it may be a bit premature to have him playing this week? They say if turf toe isn't allowed to heal properly it can become a chronic injury and limit a players ability.

The real question is, what happens when Saunders returns? Paulson to the PS or Pope off the team? I've assumed for awhile Paulson would get bumped down (they can do that, right?) and they'd roll with Miller, Saunders, and Pope. We all know Pope is Haley's guy, and he knows the system, blah blah blah. But Pope is just SO BAD at blocking! And for a backup tight end on the Steelers, that's a big freakin' deal. That's like a QB who can't throw. And he doesn't seem to offer much as a receiver, either. I've noticed he's a hard guy to bring down and is usually good for a few extra yards once he gets hit, but that's it. That's about the only positive he brings to the table. And really, that's nothing. Paulson, on the other hand, has looked surprisingly good, and can help out on special teams where Pope can't. I'm comfortable with him as our #3 and giving the boot to Popey boy.

Its to bad we don't have more Heath Millers on our team,
We would be a whole lot better if we did.

so much was made about having to pay pope all year if he made the cut, so i figure they will keep him and send paulson to the PS. i'm really suprised willJ hasen't had an expanded role as a blocking TE instead of pope so far and as a receiving TE/FB whatever you want to call him. heath, saunders, johnson would be the big 3 if it was me. i believe that would be the best option we could hope for.
