I admit last week, I watched the whole last game and I never saw this happen and there was no mention of it as far I rememberduring the game, but tonight on PTI they showed Wallace pushing the ref out of the way and argued it was worse than the Golden Tate hit.

Did anyone notice this happen live?

If you saw it tonight like me, what did you think of what Wallace did? I thought he did not know the ref was the one coming up behind him but Tony K. felt it was blatant and deserved to be fined or punished.

    Thoughts?

In my opinion Wallace didn't know who it was initially. he has just been in a physical battle with a Jets player during the play and after the whistle they broke up and Wallace started walking towards the pile. He feels someone bump him and reacts as if it is the Jets player coming to get into it. I don't think it was intentional or him going out of his way to push a ref. I saw it live and was just hoping that the ref didn't take it personally and toss him because it really did look like he was just reacting to what he thought was someone pushing him.

I agree thorn058 - I saw this as it happened and the ref new Wallace wasn't directing the contact at him personally. I too was glad the ref didn't follow the letter of the law (he did contact an official) but followed the spirit of the law. I was actually really impressed with that.

Three cheers for common sense and a big Bronx cheer for the Ravens, Patriots, Browns (strictly out of tradition at this point), Seymour and the Raiders, Packers for the Super Bowl, the Cowboys (for too many reasons to list), Roger Goodell (for too many reasons to list - plus he's a toolbag), Phil Luckett for the infamous Thanksgiving Day coin-toss, other goofy/sucky refs, Steeler haters, bandwagon fans and all the broadcasters, columnists, and bloggers that hate everything about the Steelers.

    :)

Is there a clip? I didn't see but I did see a replay during the game where a ref ran by holmes(I think) and shoulder bumped him but that's all I saw about anything of that type of matter

I too saw it live and I agree with the guys above. There had just been some shoving and the ref came up from behind and put his hands on wallace. I think Wallace just reacted as though he thought that it was a Jet player and was glad that the ref seemed to have understood and didn't make an issue out of it.

I saw it and laughed. I'm sure Wallace thought it was a Jets player.

Yeah, saw it and I was surprised there was no talk of it at the time. Eitehr the ref was so surprised he didn't throw a flag, or Mike said "sht man, I dind't think you were a ref...may bad"

Now that I see it again, the ref is a little more physical than I remember therefore MWs reaction. No doubt he was just reacting to what he thought was a Jets player.

I don't know, it seems to me he turns his head to look first and then shoves him. You can see the ref though apologize with his body language. I suspect that if Wallace did know it was the ref, that he wouldn't have pulled that if it were not a replacement official.

Thanks for the gif TTF. That is really funny! That ref got punked by Wallace and the ref didn't do squat about it. I doubt MW gets away with that if it wasn't a scab ref. It goes along with the theme of the MNF game this week - the refs have zero control over these games and seem to be like deer int he headlights.

He accidently walked in the ref's path because he didn't know he was there, the ref laid hands on him to pull him out of the way, Mike assumed it was a Jet and gave him a shove, the ref understood and moved on with his life. It was a misunderstanding but they both know what happened and neither one of them cared. Just one of those things. And it was awesome.

Thanks. Upon seeing it, I'm wondering what all the fuss is about.
