Did anyone else have Mike and Mike on this morning? Gushing over Ben, nice to see him getting his props. He played a heck of a game, not gaudy numbers but all around great game. That's why I don't want him throwing the ball away at the first hint of pressure. Did you see the beautiful dump off to Redman (I think it was Red) after escaping trouble? I've noticed he isn't looking down field as much after escaping a sack, he continues to do that and he is going to be very dangerous.

Somehow I missed that. I do like the fact that we beat up on Greeny's Jets thought, lol

Haha, yeah, but no sour grapes from Greeny though, he even lambasted the phantom PI call against us.

I heard it and Colin Cowherd also was praising Ben for his ability to escape and keep the play going. He called him a beast :good:

its like some people around here have to hear it from others before they can make up their own mind about Ben.

the dude is a great qb. this season is nothing new. he has 2 rings on his hand and has the 4th best winning % of all time.

does he always make the smart throw? no, but most qbs dont. he is a fighter and never gives up on the play. in his head throwing the ball away is like giving up. 7 out 10 times when he scrambles and doesnt just throw the ball away, something great happens. 1 out of 10 times something bad happens. i like those odds.

he does look better this year. he is using his check downs much better and he isnt always looking for the big play. he is using his outlets like run plays and that is why we are seeing so many long drives. now they just need to start turning them into 7 and not settle for 3.

I don't think thats me :lolol: Pretty well known that I am one of Bens biggest supporters and defenders. But he doesn't get alot of recognition from the media types, it was just nice to hear for a change.

Greeny is good like that. He loves the Jets, but if they play bad he tells it like it is.

I did hear that, Tomlin. The only problem with that is when Greenie sings your praises or picks you to win, it means you're doomed! Big Ben may play like Bubby Brister the rest of the season now!

I dont think most educated Steeler fans need to quantify Bens talent by what someone in the media says. I agree that because Ben gets so little recognition from the ESPN types that its nice to hear for a change. I've been one of those who have been complaining for moons that he doesn't get the hype that he deserves.

Most Steeler fans know how fortunate we are to have a QB of Bens Caliber without the media reminding us, its just that some of us would like to hear us some Big Ben talk once in awhile versus the "Non-Stop" -Brady, Rodgers, Breese, Manning-(s) talk.

lol, no he can compliment, it's just trouble for whoever he picks, the team he picks is going in the crapper :bscow:

I am a Ben lover as well. I have a son named Ben just to prove it. My wife was like "can we have a kid?" and I was like "ONLY if we can name it after Ben." and she was like "ok". I have caught much flack for naming my son after him but I don't care. He's EVERYTHING a football player should be. He's big. He's tough. He's determined. He's willing to put himself in great danger to make a play. He's a competitor. Does he have the finesse of Brady or the brain of Manning? No. But do they have the absolute GUTS that he does? No.

He is the single most important Steeler since the DYNASTY YEARS.
HE IS THE STRAW, THAT STIRS THE DRINK IN THE STEEL CITY. We will
only go as far, as Ben will take us.

Brian Billicks Fox Power Rankings comment...he ranks Steelers #9.... http://msn.foxsports.com/nfl/powerRankings

"It was classic Ben Roethlisberger on Sunday . . . break arm tackles in the pocket and make something out of nothing. I may be in the minority here, but Big Ben is an elite QB in my book. Without a doubt."
