Notable for those who think Ben is captain of the ship and calling the shots and constantly changing the plays.

    Steelers fan worst nightmare

The Ravens seem to be ascending and the Steelers descending and Flacco might be a better qb right now than Big Ben. Most of the analysts pick the Ravens to go the Superbowl and win the division and on the Steelers maybe make the playoffs not expected to win the division. All you hear is the defense is old and slow based on the last 2 losses against Denver you can't blame them.

Well... If you agree with the "analysts"... go ahead and root for Flacco.... :frustrated:
Personally... I will take Big Ben, and our team, over them every day of the week, and a thousand times, on SUNDAYS...
All I ask, is they give me "Five minutes alone", with the "talking heads", so I could "Talk" some sense into them... :butcher:
(Where`s that damn ballbat, that a couple other posters have access to??? )...
Anyhow... Yeah, I admit, it will ALWAYS be a war, when we play each other, they have modeled themselves after the blueprint we gave them, so it`s like fighting a mirror image of ourselves, every time we play them...
To me, That`s only fitting, considering they are the REAL BROWNS, after modell moved the team...
But to suggest that Flacco is on the same level as BEN....
HAHAHAHAHA... You`ve GOT to be effin kidding me?!?! :herewego: :herewego: :drinks: :dfense: :butcher:
:beard: :ratbirds: :boorats: :goodell: :clowns: :godell: :herewego!:

Ben 3 superbowls, Flacco NONE: As far as these cheer leader sports analyists are concerned, they pick a cant miss superbowl winner every year, last year it was the Packers, hello Giants: I expect the eagles to beat the Rats on the road this week, the big knock on the rat birds is they cant play on the road, it's a long season and handing out the lombardi trophy after game 1 is premature, the ravens have a tendency to implode on their own hype, and I expect this year wont be any different. Flacco put two picks in the hands of the bengal secondary last week lucky for him they dropped the ball, he wont be able to get away with that over the next 15 weeks, the eagles defense will test him this week and thats why the eagles are favored to win this game...

I was watching that game, didn't look like world beaters to me :bscow: This is why you don't make a big deal out of week 1.

Or week 2, just saying. The Ravens still scare me, as do all teams with good defences and an ability to get to the QB.

Yes, that's my point, I've said many times you need to wait half a season before you really know who anyone is. You judge a team as a collective whole, not just based on one week of play and not based on last seasons play. Of course the Ravens will be there at the end of the year, but I wasn't ready to crown them champs after a strong performance in week one. They crashed back down in a hurry this week.

They dont scare me or the Steelers and we dont play them untill week 11 and 13 anyway, by then with 9 games under our belt going into week 11 we will either be a powehouse or leaking oil, but at any rate depending on our division win loss record those two games should decide who wins this division this year, the only draw back is those will be very physical games and it could hurt us with injuries going into the playoffs if we get there...

I'm not sure we can match their intensity on the field. As both teams came back to reality the Ravens still seem to have the better team.

    offensive line......ravens or steelers RAVENS
    defensive line......ravens or steelers RAVENS
wide receivers/te ravens or steelers STEELERS
    quarterbacks.......ravens or steelers STEELERS
    running backs......ravens or steelers RAVENS
    linebackers.........ravens or steelers RAVENS
    secondary...........ravens or steelers RAVENS
special teams......ravens or steelers RAVENS (slight edge)

Some might see this different but where it counts is the offensive and defensive line. I'm hope i'm wrong but they seem to generate more pressure from their front 7 then we do from ours. I don't know if it's individual matchups or just a better scheme but we have a problem in getting to the quarterback.

Offensive line is a no brainer to me. Our oline looks bad. Especially in pass protection. Run blocking is a very close second because the running backs are getting hit as soon as they get the hand off.

I told my son who was saying, "so and so is saying this and this and this and so and so is saying this this and this"..... If so and so knew as much about the game and the outcome as they think they know, they would be in Vegas betting on their picks and be multimillionaires.

As far as the Ratbirds go, we have our hands full....I m sure they will miss Hines. :herewego:

i agree except maybe the secondary , but about of and def line you can say the same about half of the team in the league , if we don't improve we are in the bottom at both

Ray RIce will eat the Steelers D alive. If Shaun Greene gets 5 yds a pop, ray ray jr will get 8. And hurt polamalu and clark in the last line of defense tackles as our line gets blown up unfortunately. Hope I am wrong but that dude is the best all around RB in the nfl.

Rice is averaging 6.4 yards per attempt so far with 167 yards in two games. That is a very tough match-up for sure. Redman is averaging 1.8 yards per carry and Dwyer is at 4.8.

Shaner (and others) who constantly dismiss our Defense last year because of the schedule (played weak QBs) and say the Ravens was so much better. We played the same teams except 2 -- we got the Pats while they got the Jets and we got KC and they got SD. I would say Brady is by far better than Rivers and the other is a wash. Yet we still overall had a better rated defense with facing mostly the same teams...

Our losses were 2 to Baltime (1 very close), SF (we were very injured with Ben hobbled) and Houston (game was actually pretty close). They lost to very weak Seattle & Jax, got handled easily by Tenn, and destroyed by SD.

So how were they sooo much better?

It doesn't matter if they play other teams and handle them great or lose to inferior teams. All that matters is when they play us. We beat Seattle but the Browns always play us tough. We were one Keenan Lewis interception away from losing to KC. And one fumble recovery away from losing to the Colts last year.
