Well, for what it’s worth, Harbaugh plans on resting his starters while Houston’s head coach Bill O’Brian says he doesn’t care what his team has locked up. He said he’s playing to win with all his starters.

Personally, I’d prefer to limp into the playoffs versus not making them at all. This gives us at least a chance.

    I have this crazy thought-

the Steelers still lose, but Tannehill turns into a pumpkin and the Titans lose (their defense is a sieve btw). The Colts win against Jacksonville, and Drew Lock beats the Raiders at Mile High. The Steelers go in to the playoffs at 8-8 and lose in the first round.

Thereby, finishing 8-9 which makes it Tomlin's first losing season after all.

I couldn’t agree with you more. One can only assume O’Brian doesn’t want to sustain a loss prior to the playoffs. Nevertheless, it’s good for us

Texans won't do squat. They will lay down and die.

I think Watt will bring it... and Bud, too... he's got a contract to earn with another 3-4 team, likewise with Hargrave. Minkah will try to break hearts of Ravens fans... so will Bu$h.

Well, the Texans haven't been playing very well lately. Maybe O'Brian feels they need more work to try to sharpen up before the playoffs.

I’m guessing teams would rather have us in the playoffs instead of the Titans.

I, for one, like Bill Obrien's mindset....go in there and win it. Do you want a coach to sit back and relax or take it into his grasp and squeeze? Especially when the Texans haven't been all that dominant...give them rest for what???

    That's the age old conundrum.

Rest the guys who got you there and risk jacking up their momentum. Risk having them show up rusty. But then they have fresher legs and have time to heal up bit. You also avoid injury.

Or play them so that they keep their continuity and momentum so they start fast out of the gate. More wear and tear and the ever present chance of injury.

Lots of coaches on each side of the fense.

Personally, I think you play them. There's always a risk of injury. You roll the dice. Unless there's a nagging injury that needs time to heal, you play.

He’s saying he’s playing starters and trying to win the game. The thing is how long will that commitment last? Down early or a couple guys limping off will change that mindset real quick. They might be starting off to win the game but we’ll see how long that lasts....

Texans will know if the can move up to the 3rd seed before they take the field. That will affect the thinking after the first series or so. Texans kickoff at 4:25pm. Chiefs kickoff at 1pm. These teams should be kicking off at the same time!!!!

he could always start them for a series or two, then pull them.. make them put in motivated practices all week and stay tuned. watson and hopkins will not be on the field in the 4th quarter of that game. same song and dance as last year for us. hate it.
