This season was a disaster. Why prolong the agony?

If anyone is pointing a gun to your head to make you watch, you really should contact the local authorities.

But I hear what you're saying.

Those are the points allowed in the last 7 games where the Steelers are 4-3. If you don't think that by simply inserting Ben Roethlisberger into the lineup they're AT LEAST 6-1 in that stretch, you're crazy. The defense is young, quickly improving, and should be back intact next year. Just getting BB alone back next year makes this team an instantly strong playoff team.

I have to disagree with most of you. Even if Ben does
not come back as strong, we got to see this year what a lot
of players are capable of doing. I have no way to predict the future
but for the most part I like 75% of our current roster. And think we can
    build off that.

Rudolph blows. He is not the future. His performance this year just proves what most people knew when he was drafted. He is Landry Jones 2.0

Beyond the top 3, there are a bunch of Mason Rudolph look alike. We'll probably draft one in rounds 3-6 and the FO will claim that they had a first round grade on him.

You know, it's unlikely. But, I would take that trade.

Don't discount rounds 2 and beyond. It doesn't always happen but,
    Stabler 2nd round
    Fouts 3rd round
    Montana 3rd round
    Brady 6th round
    Russell Wilson 3rd round
    Garropolo 2nd round
    Dak Prescott 4th round

I’m sure fans of the 2007 9-7 giants teams were griping that they wouldn’t do squat either lol

    Hey bettissb40.

There are probably a few more things to add to your list. However, specifically about Conner, I like the guy, I think he has some decent talent, I have advocated for him here from time to time. Given that, no team is going near him with a ten-foot pole due to his injury history. I agree with some of the other posters here. What is it we can possibly offer to get Barclay? It would be a good acquisition for sure but we really have no bargaining chips unfortunately.

Also Eli is miles above what we had this year. Their defense got healthy and went on a tear in the playoffs

Because like I've said many times, I don't miss games. I'm at home, in a bar, or at the stadium. Been like that for 30+ years. I don't leave early to beat traffic. I don't turn off the set when we've stunk up the joint and are losing badly to another team we should have had wrapped up by the half.

But just because I keep watching doesn't mean I'm enjoying what I see. Being a fan, of any team, means agonizing over losses and relishing over wins. I embrace that. I own it. (Sounds like Tomlin, doesn't it?)

There are 2 seasons to an nfl year. One is for everyone and weeds out the pretenders. The other is for those worthy of being recognized as first tier teams. Most of the time, the football gods get it right and the right teams get to compete for the prize at the end of the second season.

It is agonizing watching a bad team be bad. Like Shane Falco said, it's like quicksand. This team has been sinking all year. There is no lifeline.

I will watch every minute of every game left this season. I will be invested in their success and failure, as I have been for as long as I can remember. So you can take your comment and shove it.

I don’t think Ben comes back. Many will disagree but although Mariota had an off year, I still think he can help the Steelers. Pgh can get him in the off-season. Upgrade over Rudolph/duck. If Bells price came down enough, it might be worth it, too. This coming draft will not give us the franchise QB we need, but maybe in 2021? Hopefully we can find an edge rusher and a couple of good OL picks in the 2020 draft.

Is Paxton Lynch mobile? Does he have a strong arm. There must have been something Elway saw to make him a first rounder.

Serous question, since I don't follow college football. I see a lot of comments about not having a "franchise" qb in this years draft. How can anyone be certain? Out of the bazillion college programs, are there really only 2 or 3 good quarterbacks?
