I have a Cowgirl fan up the street, when ever the Steelers lose he always gives me a rough time, I tried to warn him that every time he tries to trash talk it only puts a jinx on his team. Now it's my turn :dancing:

I was SO glad to see the cowgirls lose! Also another thing I enjoyed about the NFL this week was to see Cutler stinking up the joint. I really can't stand that guy so it's always great to see him fall on his face. But the icing on the cake was my man Charles Woodson calling him out.

How bout a 0-0 Tie with the most yards gained by the men and women rolling the stretchers on and off the field.

Oh no. Ravens are going to win the superbowl this year. Just ask those clowns on NFL shows on ESPN. No one else has a chance
I do hope the pats* beat the dog sh*t out of the rats next week though

i know , but we can take care of that twice. i can't see me rooting for brady though. they have such an easy schedule this year, i'd sure like to see them out of the running early and often.

Of course I want the Ravens to lose. But if we are out of the hunt I would probably pull for the Pats to do it again. I like Belichek also. I also like the Chargers because I have a childhood friend who started liking the Bolts at the same time I started liking the Steelers so I've always kinda pulled for them to when we are out. I'm a black sheep on here big time.

........and my wife and I were there! 1st time ever in Pittsburgh! Had a great time. Love the stadium, the energy, the passion of the fans. Something the Charger fan(s) will never be able to relate to. Even when I was young and dumb and full of....................love for the Chargers, I've never witnessed anything CLOSE to what I saw on Sunday! On a good day in Quaalcomm, there is about 70% Charger fans......and that would only be if they were playing, say, the Jags, the Bills, or another team that most people don't care about. :yeehaw: :yeehaw: :yeehaw: :yeehaw: :yeehaw:

It's funny that you are talking about the enthusiasm of the fans because I was thinking from watching it on tv that the fans seemed kinda sedated or something. Maybe it just didn't translate well to tv. Am I alone here in thinking this? I was even gonna post it during the official thread but figured it would get buried in all the rapid posts that were flying.

No, you're right. I just posted this on a thread about 'observations' about the game . . .

I was at the game. It was painfully boring for the most part. Long, time-consuming drives early on by the Jets and us being held to a couple field goals didn't do much for the energy of the game. And the time it takes all of the referees to collaborate on what to do next after one of them throws a flag absolutely kills the experience while sitting in the stadium. If Europeans hated they pace of American football before, these scab refs have driven them away for good. Goodell might as well yank the games from Wembley in the future, the European market is now officially dead (thank the lord).

As I mentioned elsewhere, the crowd didn't get into it until Tebow entered the game. That guy's presence just picks up the intensity level on both sidelines. He's great for the game.

With that said, I know this is blashpehmous, but after having an opportunity to watch an NFL game in almost every stadium in the league, our 'great fan base' is quite overrated. People aren't going to want to hear this, but Baltimore is a MUCH tougher place to play than Heinz. That crowd is insane and is so much more invested in the games than the Steeler faithful. Eagles fans at the Linc, too. Steelers fans generally remain seated and gripe the entire game after every play call. The bitching and moaning about Todd Haley in the stands was comical. I don't know what you hear more complaints from Steelers fans at Heinz about: the horrible play-calling or how they never throw to the tight end. It just reminded me of how ridiculous all of the Arians-bashing on this board was, how Haley was going to be organization's savior, and then Haley, as it turns out, has really given us NOTHING more than Arians did. Personally, I think Haley, to this point, is a downgrade. This team should just open up the offense, run no-huddle, and let Ben do his thing.

The enthusiasm I was talking about was around town and the stadium BEFORE the game. Tens of thousands of people lining up to get into the stadium 2 hours before the game? Unheard of here in San Diego! Even in the 80s when the Chokers were good(?).

The problem is when Ben is doing his thing, he's playing sandlot football and heaving it 40 yards downfield to a double-covered Mike Wallace instead of dumping it off to Heath wide open 8 yards down the field for an easy first down. I think what we're seeing at this point is more discipline by Ben which is exactly what I hoped we'd get with a Haley run offense. We've had several time consuming drives and it seems to me that Ben is starting to take what the defense gives him instead of trying to be a hero every play.

i don't think we win sunday if ben didn't do his thing. i'm not crazy about haleys offense yet, and i think takes it to much into a shell from what it was. true ben has played a seemingly better all around game, but i'd like to see something in between BA's and what haley's been doing. a happy medium.

he did have a plan though it looked like. he hit the edges first to get them outside the box but couldn't loosen up the interior enough to make the run game work well.

we need work on the line. they always easily get our linemen one on one with their d-linemen and as they lockup the blitzer comes around those blocks uncontested. we do fine with each of our linemen locked up on one guy, but the defense gets them spread out with angles, leaving gapping rush lanes wide open. our linemen don't use their hands and arms well to keep the defender they are locked up on off their bodies. they grab and bury their heads in that man and can't even see a second level blitzer coming. bad form.

One of the biggest, and most encouraging, differences between BA's offense and TH's offense:

    BA's offense - Heath Miller, 2 TDs, 16 games
TH's offense - Heath Miller, 2 TDs, 2 games (many more to come)

He knows how to use Heath in the redzone. Heath should have had a third TD if Ben had not woefully underthrew him in the first game against the Broncos. He was wide open. I can tell a significant difference between Haley and Arians when it comes to RZ strategy and so far I like what I see!
