What people don't seem to get is sometimes you have to adjust expectations based on the team. Most seasons, just making the playoffs would not be good enough for me. This season, it would be one hell of an accomplishment.

I loathe TOMLIN as I feel he has blown so many opportunities for this franchise over the last 8 years but this season he has been impressive. Every time I make a jag off post about him sucking and blowing the season to a team like Cincy they find a way to win. Yesterday down 10-0 I didn’t think the offense would score one time and yet they win. Gotta be fair and give credit where credit is due. Even 8-8 this year is outstanding considering the injuries and offensive talent.

Tomlin won't be Coach of the Year, but you gotta give him credit. Many here were ready to fire him after the last couple of seasons. Some posts were noticeably salivating at the prospect that after going 0-3 and no Ben this season, the inevitable 5-11 year would push Art II to fire him. Others argued he had a built in excuse, of course we stunk we lost the franchise QB?

Well, they're 7-5, they'll almost certainly have a non losing season, they may have make the playoff and have a better record in last yr. The D's performance is great. Tomlin was blamed for poor D performance in the past, so doesn't he desire some credit now?

Tomlin is a good coach. Someday this team will hire a moron like Rex Ryan or Rich Kottite and spoiled Yinzer nation will really understand what bad coaching is.

They're talking about giving it to Harbaugh of all people. Why? Because he decided to go all in with Jackson "LAST" Year? Because he took a division winner and has them winning more games this year? Is it because he's tendency busting this year and having success?

He's winning based on the crazy abilities of his player that apparently no one besides Cleveland and Pittsburgh can figure out how to defend.

One JuJu fumble away from beating them with Duck as a replacement and being a game behind!

10 wins and a playoff berth should make Tomlin a lock for Coach of the Year considering everything this team has faced this year.

9-7? Probably not. But it's a massive feather in his cap.

Cowherd, Bayless, Sharpe on their shows and some in the CBS and ESPN crews have mentioned it.

I write that there wasn't such talk. I wrote that it isn't in the article, which is just Labriola doing his homer thing. Glenn's interpretation of the article was not accurate. I am aware that there is real talk of Tomlin as Coach of the Year elsewhere.

COTY is a curse, let them keep it. We don’t need the press or attention, just keep building and winning. I think the coach of the year should always be who wins the SB, not a stupid vote.

even though the fake punt was canceled by the coaches but Berry never got the communication, Tomlin still took responsibility for it, compare that to
Adam Gase a ‘professional excuse-maker,’ says NFL GM
imagine if Tomlin was fired, wld people on this board stomach a Bengals or Jets first year coach season?

Tomlin has made questionable calls and is not perfect and people may not like his "cheerleading" style but the visceral hatred? we could be a lot worse off, for me there is a lot more to Tomlin than the vocal players guy you see on the sideline,

Tomlin is in a transition year. If he can be a coach that does not play favorites to the point where a player takes advantage of him, and doesn't take as long to rebuild the offense, as it did the defense, he could win another Super Bowl. Tomlin does seem to have intangibles that the average coach and below average coach lack.

If the team wins 10 games, and get in the playoffs he should win it.

He says in the article Tomlin has been getting a lot of support as a Prime candidate or odds on favorite. Seems like it’s more than just he opinion.

    From the article:
Mike Tomlin has been getting a lot of support recently as either a prime candidate for, or the odds-on favorite to win, the NFL Coach of the Year Award for his work with this particular Steelers team. The reasons given for his candidacy in 2019 have been well-documented and should be familiar now to everyone paying attention to this NFL regular season and how the Steelers have had to navigate it.

Apparently there is a Vegas betting line and Tomlin is #4. Per local 93.7 radio.

Edit: I was way up the list when I posted this.

He provided nothing to back that up, so it sure seems like it was just his opinion. It was just Labriola being a fanboy.

Everyday, Tomlin walks past six Lombardi Trophies not six COTY trophies
