I don't see it that way. I don't believe he's coty material, not even close. Excellent job? Again, I don't see it that way.

And no, Rudolph shouldn't be starting. If Tomlin was better in touch with his team, Rudolph wouldn't have been playing in game 1 against Cleveland. He most certainly wouldn't have been dropping back to pass on the last play of the game, deep in our end, with nothing positive to be gained regardless of the outcome. I've said it many times already, Tomlin is 100% responsible for the altercation. None of those players should have been put in that position. Garrett should be suing Tomlin for lost wages.

I dont know what stats your looking at but Jason Garret has a record of 85-69 head coaching. Thats only a win percentage of .552. Jason Garret has a 2-3 postseason record in 8 years. Hes never been past the Divisional Round. He is no Mike Tomlin. Bad Comparison.

After the way Tomlin is coaching this injury riddled team this year, he has earned the job for next year to see what we can do with a healthy Big Ben back.
If he fails next year with Ben at the helm then its fair to question getting rid of Mike T. But because of the great job he has done this year with a 4th string undrafted QB starting, he has most certainly earned the job for next year just to see what he can do with this team healthy.
There is no coach available that would be better for this team next year and Mike T is proving that this year.
He might win Coach of the Year for gods sake and people want to get rid of him. Its ridiculous.

Nonetheless, I think the Girls should give JG a 10 year extension and I hope the Zombie stays alive and still active in their organization for at least that long as well.

Both Sports Illustrated and pro-football-reference.com have him at 83-66. But that doesn't matter. I must have divided 66 by 83 to get 80% which is not winning %. I know to divide wins by total games. I have no answer why I didn't and no excuse for doing it. I apologize.

To be honest, there is none. But that doesn't make Tomlin a good, or bad, coach. The fact that your house isn't on fire doesn't make fire less hot. It is what it is. And Tomlin is what he is, underachieving.

If we could clone <insert best coach in the nfl here>, would Tomlin suddenly be the bad coach his detractors say he is?

We don't know how great a job MT has done until the year is over. I remember how we ended last year with a healthy Ben. We've been down this road with Ben healthy for years and we are where we are. Do we need 2 decades to find out what we already know after 1? We drop the next four games will you say he deserves another year? If he wins the next 4 games, I'll be the one saying he deserves another year. But eventually, even getting to the playoffs with a healthy Ben, history h as shown us where the trip ends.

How many people would have said that MT was the best head coach candidate in the entire NFL when he was hired? I didn't know who the hell he was to be honest. Now you're saying there are no other HC candidates that are better than MT in the entire NFL? That doesn't add up for me. To me there is absolutely better candidates out there right now just like there was when Cowher was replaced. Don't ask me who it is unless I get paid a lot of money to do the organizations job.

You want to be paid for your opinion? C'mon. You're sure there is a better candidate, who is it?

So you want to fire a HC if he makes the playoffs with this depleted squad, and he has 2 years remaining on his contract, and you can't come up with a better replacement .

I can only go by what he has done so far this year. of course if he goes winless from now on we can talk. But right now he is in the playoffs with this team.

Well, the question was who is better AND AVAILABLE. Frankly, I don't even know who all is available right now. That's why I said none.

Imagine Popcorn coaching the Browns or Bungholios the last 12 years. This board would view him as a football god that owns the division.
Have a look at a Ohio team message board.

I don't like Tomlin and haven't for almost 10 years now. With that said, he's not going anywhere anytime soon. If he was on the hot seat, he's not now. Ben going down changed all of that.

I do like Rivera. Not really sure if he would be a good replacement or not. It's hard to know this stuff without really paying attention to the team the coach is from.

Let me make this as simple as I can so you are able to understand. I said I didn't know who MT was when he was hired to replace Cowher. It wasn't my job then and it isn't now. However they did find your irreplaceable HC nonetheless But somehow, someway, they were able to find MT just as they should be able to do the same now. Or, do you need to have someone's name, SSN, resume, etc to be convince there is really someone out there that can be our HC? From what I see on this board there are many that would like to see a change in leadership. So quit the smug "show me" BS about who it could be and either agree or disagree of which either way I could care less.

I'm asking what YOUR opinion is. Is that too hard for you? I'm not asking anyone to do due diligence and actually go out and hire someone.

Yep, he's not going anywhere now. 8-5 and winning games with Hodges who would be unemployed right now if they didn't trade Dobbs. 8-2 in the last 10. I still think he has limitations but he's done a great job this year.

    Hey Steel Hog.

Yes, we have seen Tomlin's "Underachievement" with a "Healthy Ben" and Dynamic "O" Weapons. I do not have to wait, or give, another year to know how the story will probably conclude. I totally agree with you. Let us just enjoy what is happening right now. Now, if we win the Super Bowl this season, not just get there, I mean win it all, then we can have a different conversation.
