Doesn’t matter how good teams are, division games are always up for grabs.

Rooney and Noll expected Bradshaw to have a few good years left in him. They drafted Malone in the 1st round a few years earlier and still had hopes of him becoming a good starting QB. Had Bradshaw stayed healthy, Rivera taken a cab home from the bar, and Malone lived up to expectations, it would've looked foolish in hindsight to draft Marino. Maybe if they'd have called the psychic hotline they'd gave known better?

Those are a lot of ifs, and there is still no way they would have looked foolish for taking Marino.

So, We get 1 good year out of 5 for a 1st rounder...And his good year is his contract year...So now we have to gamble and pay him big money...Is he worth it or not?

    Bad analogy

I still think the league will figure Jackson out but he keeps proving me wrong.

Very true I remember one year the Ravens were bad like 5-11 or 4-12 and they still swept us that season.

They have too many things going for them. Strong running game, good tight ends, great defense and a mobile qb that can throw

Never said it is ideal. I did state it is likely for Terrell though.

Edmunds ball skills are terrible , and will be exploited.

Bud was not the most instinctive at anything either up until now. To say Terrell cannot be is disingenious. As I have pointed out multiple times and I will again, this is essentially year three of him playing the position.

I will respond, and not for the first time, that changing positions doesn’t explain his terrible instincts when playing the ball.

I have to admit that a small, small part of me wanted the team to draft Jackson, even though I hate running qbs. All he is at this point is a running back throwing an occasional option pass. People are slobbering all over him for throwing for 169 yards in his last game. If he couldn't run he would be an afterthought.

I believe there is a bit of an issue here. Instincts is one thing for certain. Ball skills are another set of skills all together. Both can be developed.

That said, ball skills can be developed quicker than instincts.

Instincts, by definition, can't be developed.

Your analysis is simplistic at best. Jackson is a better passer than you are giving him credit for and he can run, so it's silly to talk about what he would be without that talent.

That's the ticket right there....I don't think Pittsburgh was ready to shape shift the offense to fit his talents. Especially with Ben already here, its two completely different offenses. They can barely alter the game plan from game to game let alone cater to one players' talents. Drafting Jackson would have been a wasted pick with this staff imo.
