I did not see the full game. That said, by what @KnoxVegasSteel@KnoxVegasSteel told me, then no. It could have been worse!

I don't think so. I know I'm harsh on Mason but yesterday but one of the absolute worst passing performances that I've ever seen, and I'm being completely serious.

The Bengals would have by 2 TD's.

I would have to say no. Rudolph was awful. At the same time, it's not like Hodges came in and played lights out. He did play better than Rudolph, which isn't saying much. I'm really not sure either of these guys will be the answer at QB. Given the circumstances I am not sure how any QB can succeed in this offense. Our offensive lineup looks like the 4th quarter of a preseason game.

I don't think so. At least not the way Rudolph had played to that point.

    Doubtful.

It wasn't just yesterday either. The last two weeks have been just dreadful while the three weeks prior to that have been just bad.

Here are his last five games passer ratings; 84.4, 84.5, 85.6, 36.3, 39.8.

Even had he kept his 85 rating all season that would put him around 25th among all QBs. Right now his season rating of 80.3 has him 32nd out of 34 qualified QBs. The league has essentially seen enough of him to know what he can and can't do and are exposing all his deficiencies.

I just wish we could see into the crystal ball and tell whether it's him or Fuchtner. I don't "think" MR is very good but I "know" Fuchtner is a gluehead with his playcalling.

I don't think so. The offense just needed something to change.

Mason isn't improving either. When I saw him standing like a statue, double clutching and patting the ball while standing in the endzone, I was over the guy right there. I couldn't believe it.

It seemed to help open up the running game as well. That allowed them to grind it out in the end.

I couldn't stomach watching the game.... as I was busy.... but judging from the highlights.... I don't think we win without the bizarre undercut route catch & run by Washington. I can't tell if that was a designed route, or a broken play. Either way, you take that 79 yards out of Duck's stats.... and he sucked just as bad if not worse than Rudolph.

I have to disagree. Although Duck didn't rack up great stats other than that 79 yard pass, he threw the ball to player instead of behind them, his ball spins rather than wobbles, and it looks like he sees the field where MR looks like he sees the ocean.

I don’t think they win with Mason if he stayed in the game. He would have turned the ball over more and he definitely would not have made the plays Duck made that allowed them to win this game. I still think Tomlin goes back to Rudolph this week because he has been better at home but his leash will be extremely short if he struggles early and often. I think the Steelers defense wins them this game anyway at the end of the day. It will be personal for them and they won’t allow the Browns to come in here and sweep them. This will be like the Rams game where the defense makes huge splash plays to win this game. They will be the difference.

I would say NO.. They needed that spark with duck in desperately. He has not been the same for a couple of games now. Duck gives us the best chance to win and he is not the answer either. Ben needs to man up and come back haha.. jk

Agree. Duck seems to be more chill and aware while in the pocket. He is better then MR for the moment.

Yea Rudolph’s pocket presence is just awful. He doesn’t step up or move his feet and the second he gets pressured he throws the ball into the ground. A lot of his throws too when their is pressure are seeing his hand hit opposing players helmets which shows he is holding onto the ball way too long.

The offense sucked as bad, but Duck at least looked better. No double clutching or intentional grounding. It is hard to believe a team has two professional QBs that are that bad on the roster. I think it points to other areas of the offense - O line, receivers, running backs - that makes any QB look pretty bad.

I'll disagree with those that think MR has gotten worse. He's the same, it's the defenses that have gotten better playing against him. They have a pretty good idea that he can't beat them deep so the safeties are playing closer to the line and taking away the short routes. They know that he can't deal with pressure, so they're blitzing more.

Mason was frustrated. Tomlin finally made a good decision to make the switch. I`m also thinking it was the perfect opportunity for Tomlin to keep him out of the Browns rematch by switching when he did as there was enough proof of poor decision making.

He may have snapped out of it, but I think he probably would not have and we probably would have lost.

You know it's bad when the eternal optimist Glenn agrees the steelers lose that game with Rudolph.

And I will agree that Tomlin gets props for yanking Rudolph and putting Duck in the game. Damn, that was really hard for me to type....

They would have definitely won the Punt stat. The offense was doing absolutely nothing with him behind center.

I agree with just about everyone else. I don't think the Steelers would have won had Mason been kept in. I hope Duck can be the spark we need against Cleveland this week.

Duck's stat line without the Washington catch and run..... 4 for 10 for 39 yards plus 1 rushing yard..... That's NOT going to win a game against anyone except the hapless Bengals. Sorry, I'm not seeing how any of that is an improvement. Personally, I think both QB's are about the same, except maybe Rudolph is still suffering some concussion side effects???
