Should the NFL move the Browns?

I have said this for years but now seems to be a good time to pose the question; is the NFL better off without the "Cleveland" Browns?

I know they are in the Steelers division and used to be a great rival. I know Dan Rooney saved the Browns franchise when Modell moved them to Baltimore, I know the NFL will never move them but.............

    1. When something is wrong and you can't figure out why, look for the common denominator, it's Cleveland!
    2. They have been an embarrassment for decades.
    3. http://thesteelersfans.com/forums/attachments/685465f3-4492-4aee-b0cb-af1aaf5b9165-png.5629/
    4. I have personally witnessed Browns players and fans cheering when opposing players were seriously injured.
    5. No coach with credentials will ever want to go there.
    6. Every year, they do something to make the NFL look bad.
    7. The former Browns (now Ravens) had to leave Cleveland in order to win....and it didn't take them long!
Cleveland is simply not a good sports city and certainly isn't a good NFL city!

Yes, I think an improved location would be beneficial to all parties concerned. Someplace in North Dakota would be a great place for them.

Seemed to be a pretty good sports city for the Browns in the 50s and 60s. Had some good teams with Sipe and Kosar. Their coaches have included Paul Brown, Schottenheimer and Belichek(sp) They have a passionate fan base so...………..no

One should never use the words "move" and "brown" in the same sentence. [IMG]

This picture clearly represents a post-move snap shot as the "browns" are gone!

Yes, but then the NFL tried it again. Kinda like marrying your ex-wife:huh:

I did. I still don't understand what would the Browns accomplish. Their fanbase is ridiculously loyal despite and in spite of the porous rebirth of the franchise. To have both those aforementioned qualities and still sell tickets like crazy?!?!

Jimmy Haslam is not moving anywhere.

There is a fallacy about the loyalty of Browns fans which is perpetrated by Browns fans and the NFL. For example, I took my grandsons to the game on Christmas eve 2016 because my son-in-law got free club seats. The scalpers were selling tickets for $6 and there was virtually nobody there. I asked a scalper how he could make a living and he just laughed, he said it was like this every week and the NFL only shows the stadium later in the game when the 5,000 people in attendance have moved to the lower sections.

It's not what the Browns would accomplish, it's what the NFL would accomplish. If they moved the Browns to another city, it would improve the overall content of the NFL.....like fishing with a live well, if you are limited out you can keep fishing and if you catch a nice fish, you throw out the smallest one in the live well.

Yeah well... that was 2016 when they had no QB. The jury is still out on Baker Mayfield but he is better than any QB the Browns have had since their rebirth in 1999. Add his personality and fans will come out to support the team yet again.

A friend of mine married the same one 3 times. His brother married a different one twice. None of them are married now.

One of the more ridiculous posts on here.

    1. The city the team is in has nothing to do with it's success. It's literally insane to think if this same ownership, management, coaching and player group was in a different city that they would suddenly be good.
    2. Again, nothing to do with the location and everything to do management and players.
    3. Still nothing to do with the city
    4. I have personally seen fans of every team in the NFL cheering when an opposing player gets hurt
    5. Of course they would if they had full control. Probably more likely to go to Cleveland than Dallas, where they will never have full control
    6. That same argument can be made about every team in the league. Again though, how would a new city change anything?
    7. Cleveland has won championships in the pre-SB era. Also, the city of Baltimore did nothing to help the team win, NOTHING

So you went to a game on Christmas eve to watch a team in the middle of a tear down, and you think the attendance at that game is somehow indicative of all their games? Hate to break it to you, but Cleveland has better attendance numbers than we do this year. They are selling out all their games, we are not.

Wait till it turns cold here in the Steel city and the team might be out
of the playoffs. Those 6$ dollars that scalper was getting in cleveland
may look good compared to what they would get here. You have yuppies going
to games now, that could care less about football. Most of them don't even
know who the Steelers opponents are. They go to post to FB LOL
