if you play madden like i do and only use the steelers like i do then here is some advice. Make rainey your starting runningback he is awesome and can take it to the house on every play esp. slip screen and the pa hb wheel is singleback close

Low, but his speed and acceleration are near top.

He's not so good if you're using high sliders. :)

He is only a 65 but ray said his speed acceleration and elusiveness are high. He is a 99 on kick and punt returns. I don't play a power game i like to pass but anything outside and draws from the gun work very well for me. I will be lucky to run it 15 times a game.

When I run sim type games (fairly high sliders, average of 70 plays a game give or take), I'll average 22-28 carries a game. Maybe as high as 30-35 if I'm milking a lead.

I normally just play on line but the steelers passing game is unstoppable. Arians would love it lol

Also make dvd the second corner lewis is rated higher but thats just because of his awarenss. Dvd is better at catching and is a 98 on speed

    Franchise is out?

I tend to stick with a game for a few seasons, then update every so often, so I'm usually way behind on the newer developments.

The Franchise mode that they listened to fans about in Madden 12 is all but done away with. They have their fancy new connected careers which seems to focus on online play in their communities but you can also play offline. Gone from it are created players modified rosters, created teams or any of the fun things that many of us buy the game for. I read that they even did away with moving a team if the offer is right but I haven't looked at it yet. I like that the passing is easier this year but the new physics engine is not all they are making it out to be nor is the graphics as stunning as they claim at least not to me. I can't seem to run with Mendenhall much past a four yard dive but can rattle long runs with Redman, Dwyer and Rainy.

    Cheers for the info.

Do you think they might have listened to certain fans feedback and put in a special "dancing" button for Mendy that you keep accidentally hitting?

Haven't played in some time but that's the way it's always been with that kind of sim. You just find the player with the huge quick #s and start running all over the place back and forth, sideways until the entire D is behind chasing you and it's over. My nephew used to use Vick to do it.

    So irritating.

That was big during online play back when Vick was with the Falcons, almost everyone I played against chose the Falcons and would drop back 30 yards and then try running 90 or throwing an 80 yard pass. It was easily negated with a CB blitz since they never saw the CB's coming from either side. This was back when the Steelers had Davenport and I just pounded people into submisson with my rushing attack. Had quite a few people quit on me because I played the Steelers they same way they do in real life, power rushing attack and tough defense, eat up the clock and throw high percentage low risk passes and I wasn't very good at online play just I knew the team and its strengths.

I would kill people with FWP back then the stretch and off tackle were great as were the screen plays. Then i would eat people alive controlling porter on defense know i control woodley for most of the time and switch when the ball is in the air. I really like this version of madden i like how if you run into your line or a blocker you stumble though it does make me very mad when i have DD leading the way on a screen and nobody else to beat seems i always trip over him blocking somebody

A lot of people I have played are better at the game than me so I go Bill Walsh on them and throw little 'stick' passes and throw in a draw now and then. It drives them nuts. I just wish Madden 13 had the option offense so I could try my luck with Leftwich. :)

I get destroyed if I play random people on-line. Part of that is I'm older and just not that good anymore (I'm lucky if I can even set my defense before the snap. Or get my line and receiver hots out before time expires). Part of it is that the hardcore gamers know every little trick in the book, and abuse them to no end. The win is what's important: not realism.

So I usually only play with friends, and lately, that's not often either. If I'm playing solo, I end up constantly fighting the sliders. Every time I get it "just right," it becomes too easy after a few games. Of course, I've never been so good that MAX sliders was easy. That just feels like the computer is cheating. :roflmao:

I find the same as you, Ray. In the end, I tend to admit that playing Madden tends to be a bit more after-work (or post-game) therapy than it is a "challenge".

I just don't really get on-line play, though. I fully admit to being a dinosaur who only really wants to play games on their own.
